Daejeon MPOLY School (part of Korea POLY School) is currently looking to fill 2 teaching positions. MPOLY School caters to high-level students from grades 6-9.
*Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently residing in Korea. Ideal overseas applications have their documents fully prepared.*
Location: Daejeon
1)
Position: Literature teacher(80%+ of classes taught will be literature/reading)
Hours: 2-10:30
Level: junior high
Salary: 2.5+ (based on qualifications/experience)
# of foreign teachers: 4

Position: Science (80%+ of classes taught will be bio/chemistry/physics/geometry)
Hours: 2-10:30
Level: junior high

Planning and Preparation
• Orients students to course and communicates course requirements.
• Sets and enforces deadlines for student work.
• Responsible for student academic progress and attendance
• Individualize instruction to help each student achieve curricular objectives.
• Grades student work and maintains grade book.
• Communicates high expectations and shows an active interest in student’s achievement.
• Alert administrators to any concerns about student performance and progress.
• Support students through basic computer troubleshooting.
• Learn the curriculum in its entirety for assigned grade levels.
Professional Responsibilities
• Collaborates with peers.
• Build community by contributing to school message boards, newsletter and events.
• Travel to and participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions if needed
• Assist or conduct training/orientation for new teachers
• Assist with the development of teaching materials, supplementary materials, tests, evaluations,and other programs related to MPOLY
Requirements
• 1+ years teaching experience
• Bachelor’s degree in History, Literature, or Science; MA candidate is a plus
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
The ideal candidates will also have:
• Experience working with the proposed age group
• An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g., database and web-based tools)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to balance and deliver on multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
