5 Positions Available in Guangdong Province

Shaoguan University is public tertiary institution in Guangdong Province, China. Famous for its natural beauty and convenient links to Hong Kong and Guangzhou, Shaoguan is a peaceful and enjoyable place to live and work.

We currently have 5 positions available for professional and enthusiastic teachers looking for an experience of a lifetime in China starting September this year. We have vacancies for foreign instructors in English as a Foreign Language, Biology, Economics and Literature departments. Contracts run until the end of June and are renewable by mutual agreement.

Duties for our foreign instructors are as follows;

Teach 8 lessons a week (90 minute lessons divided into two 45 minute blocks).

Provide well-prepared lessons that maximize student contact time.

Assign homework activities to reinforce classroom input.

Provide the School of Foreign Languages with a basic semester outline for your courses in the first two weeks of the semester.

Attend monthly meetings with departmental and international office staff.

Adapt elements of the course textbook into your lessons and course design.

Clearly establish measurable learning outcomes and provide regular feedback to students to aid and measure student progress.

Be active in the university community.

Finally, we hope you can engage students in a friendly and positive way.

We offer free accommodation in a private modern apartment, free internet access at home, an airfare allowance paid at contract completion, paid winter holidays, paid public holidays and a Monday to Friday work schedule.

We hope that applicants can meet the follow criteria;

2 years teaching or training experience

A bachelor degree or soon to be completed degree

A USA, UK, NZ, Canadian, Australian, South Africa or Irish passport (For EFL positions)
