Academic Manager for a High-end Kids’ English Center in Shanghai

Requirement:
1. Bachelor degree or above
2. TEFL teaching experience (3~10 years old) of min. 3 years
3. TEFL teaching team management experience of min. 1 year
4. Teaching/ management experience in China is preferred

Responsibilities:
A. Administrative
1. Hold weekly academic meetings. Communicate with Chinese management regarding information that should be imparted to teaching staff.
2. Collect, proofread and distribute communication letters, student evaluations and report cards.
3. Ensure that classrooms and school are decorated.
4. Conducting teacher’s evaluations (monthly and quarterly)
5. Assist in sourcing teachers in local circles

B. Academic
6. Holding teacher’s meetings for the purpose of improving school operation and increasing communication between teachers and management.
7. Substitute teaching whenever necessary.
8. Doing classroom rounds and making sure all teachers are following the curriculum to insure high teaching quality.
9. Provide training for the teachers at the center

C. Promotions and Student Recruitment
10. Conduct oral placement tests for potential students.
11. Design and implement demo classes for prospective students when needed.
12. Design and organize promotional events.

D. Leadership
13. Providing mentorship for teachers and students.
14. When misunderstandings happen between Chinese and foreign staff, helping to solve issues.
15. Supervise and discipline teachers.
16. Inspire curiosity, thinking, interaction, and discussion on teaching materials.

Working hours (40 hours in total):
Wednesday to Friday: 130-830pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9am-730pm (currently ends at 6pm)
Monday and Tuesday: off

Address: Zhabei District, close to Shanghai Circus World Station of Metro Line 1

Package: after tax 22~24K Renminbi/ month (USD 3200~3500/ month), not including quarterly and annual bonus. Medical insurance provided.
