Trine University is seeking qualified adjuncts to teach undergraduate courses in China at Trine’s partner foreign language high schools. Our current need is for individuals experienced in teaching one or more of the following disciplines: English, Mathematics, Business, Philosophy, Psychology, Physics, and Communication.
Business: The candidate will teach introductory business course.
Communication: The candidate will teach introductory speech course.
English: The candidate will teach introductory composition and/or advanced academic writing.
Mathematics: The candidate will teach college algebra, pre-calculus, and introductory statistics.
Philosophy: The candidate will teach introductory philosophy course.
Physics: The candidate will teach introductory college physics course.
Psychology: The candidate will teach introductory psychology course.
Requirements:
• At minimum, Master’s degree in a related academic discipline from a university where English is the language of instruction
• Prior college teaching experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with teaching international students a plus – courses are taught in English
• Student-centered philosophy of teaching
• Ability to start immediately
Position highlights:
• One-year academic contracts from mid-August to mid-July
• Round-trip airfare from home country to China provided
• Visa assistance, including application process and paying associated fees
• Accommodation provided, access to daily cafeteria (15-19 meal plan/week)

• Training, professional development, observation, collaboration with and assistance from bilingual Chinese faculty, teaching materials, and course syllabi provided
• Gain valuable insights through teaching a unique population of English language learners
• Acclimate students to a Western pedagogical approach and assist them in applying their English in a real-world settings
Hourly commitment: 20-40 hour work week, up to 20 hrs per week of instruction and up to 20 hrs per week holding one-on-one student conferences and maintaining office hours
Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
