The Job

We are now recruiting for an American History & Literature Teacher and an IELTS / TOFEL Oral English Teacher to teach at our excellent high school in Harbin.

Our school is composed of the domestic entrance section and the international entrance section. Graduates can obtain up to three diplomas from China and foreign countries. Our mission is to lay the foundation for a happy life for all our students, and to this end we have combined our curriculum & student activities into a diversified teaching model, to cultivate outstanding talent with a global perspective.

Teachers will be teaching their professional subjects on a Monday to Friday basis, with a maximum of 20 teaching hours per week. We have established diversified community activities and friendly relations with reputable schools abroad, offering our students the opportunity to go to world cultural centers and experience studying at elite high schools such as the UK and the US for cultural exchanges.

Harbin – The city
Located in Heilongjiang province in the northeast, Harbin is famous for the spectacular Snow and Ice Festival during December through January when the city is transformed into a luminescent showcase of ice art. For those of you who love skiing, there is Yabuli ski resort located just a 3-hour drive away. 
Harbin has four distinct seasons, each with its own particular beauty. Spring brings streets that are lined with fragrant lilac trees and abundant outdoor markets. Summer brings the comfortably hot weather and the umbrellas of the numerous beer gardens dotted across the city. 

Situated close to Russia, Korea and Inner Mongolia, Harbin is an ideal place to be based for short or longer trips to explore this part of the world. Harbin itself has a lot to offer! The city is developing very quickly, but there are still many places to go which are typically Chinese. The beautiful Russian architectural influence also adds to the attraction of the city. 

Main Responsibilities
-Maximum of 20 teaching hours per week
-Maximum of 20 admin hours per week
-Class sizes: 20 to 25 students
-Student ages:  16 to 18 years old
-5 working days per week
-Cooperate with Chinese staff to ensure the constructive communication and other activities
-Participation in Extra Curricular Activities (ECA)
-Lesson planning, creating course outlines
-Deliver classes in a professional and creative way

Compensation
-Highly competitive salary: 15,000 to 20,000 RMB per month
-Flight reimbursement on contract completion: 6,000 RMB
-Airport pick up provided
-Free accommodation or 1,000 monthly housing allowance provided
-Fully paid summer and winter holidays (around 2 months per year)
-Paid and sponsored Z work visa provided
-Medical insurance provided

Requirements
-Native English speaker from UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia or Ireland
-Bachelor’s degree or above in related field
-TEFL certificate 120 hours or at least 2 years teaching experience required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
-At least some teaching experience in relevant subjects required
-Clean criminal record
-Highly responsible team player with hard working ethics
