Who are GEPIK?
GEPIK stands for ‘Gyeonggi-do English Program in Korea’, they are solely responsible for employing teachers to work in the public school system in Gyeonggi-do. They create partnerships with reputable recruitment companies to find them teachers.
Where is Gyeonggi-do province?
Gyeonggi-do province encircles Seoul City.
Why work in Gyeonggi-do province?
Because of Gyeonggi’s proximity to Seoul many of the people who work in Seoul commute from Gyeonggi. These people do not commute and leave the luxuries of living in the big city when they go home? Gyonggi has some marvellous attributes.
It has some of the best shopping in Korea, a vibrant nightlife in many (if not all) all of its cities and a great selection of restaurants serving world cuisine in addition to the great variety of Korean foods. But in addition to the cosmopolitan make-up of Gyeonggi-do province it has a wealth of things to offer that a metropolis like Seoul cannot. It is easy to escape to a quiet park or take a relaxing walk or for the more adventurous teacher you could always take a hike in some of Gyeonggi’s famous nature park ? ESL Line’s personal favourite is Gwangju Mountain Range. Gyeonggi also boasts skiing resorts for those who enjoy winter sports. For the more cultured individual Gyeonggi also has many museums but also has a lot of historical sites; from King Tombs to castles and temples. Gyeonggi also boast a World Heritage Site in the city of Suwon, which also has a Folk Village for those interested in the old Korean way of life. In addition, one would be truly hard-pressed to find a Gyeonggi suburb without hikeable hills and a community stream with a walking path beside it (perfect for runners!).

ESL Line’s personal favourite is Gwangju Mountain Range. Gyeonggi also boasts skiing resorts for those who enjoy winter sports. For the more cultured individual Gyeonggi also has many museums but also has a lot of historical sites; from King Tombs to castles and temples. Gyeonggi also boast a World Heritage Site in the city of Suwon, which also has a Folk Village for those interested in the old Korean way of life. In addition, one would be truly hard-pressed to find a Gyeonggi suburb without hikeable hills and a community stream with a walking path beside it (perfect for runners!).
