Camp Director in Gyeongsan (suburb of Daegu)
Position To plan, direct, and supervise all camp programs and staff for two camps a year in Gyeongsan, South Korea (suburb of Daegu)
Minimum Qualifications
MA in Education/TESOL/TEFL or related fields and/or
Camp Director experience and/or Head of School experience with 5 years of Elementary teaching.
Must be able to be in Korea by June 30th, 2014.
General Responsibility
To plan, direct, and supervise all camp programs and staff for two camps a year. One in the summer and one in the winter. The first summer camp will take place near the end of July for 3-4 weeks. General Manager of a Start-up English Language Center (ELC).
Specific Responsibilities
Define camp goals and/ or define and plan program to reflect camp goals.
Prepare and conduct pre-camp and in-service staff trainings.
Develop curriculum, routines, schedules, and procedures for camp operation as well as ELC
Assign staff activities and other responsibilities.
Define and monitor crisis management plan, including emergency procedures.
Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all campers and staff.
Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among the camp family and faculty.
These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
Responsible to executive coordinators, and board of directors
Candidates should possess the following characteristics and skills:
A demonstrated commitment to and philosophical understanding of progressive education
Experience and knowledge of classroom teaching and other direct work with children and families
The ability to work collaboratively with the teachers and Leadership Team of the camp/ELC
The ability to make decisions based on observation, collaboration, analysis and synthesis
Salary Range/Benefits
45,000,000-55,000,000 KRW (approximately 45000-55000 USD) yearly based on qualifications
1 month paid vacation (2 weeks after summer camp and 2 weeks after winter camp)
Health Insurance as defined by Korean Gov’t

Housing on campus provided or 400/month (included in above salary)
Income tax exemption for up to 2 years (for US Citizens only)
