Job Description

Children's English Teacher - Madrid

Kidz English House is seeking a teacher to join us for the new academic year in September 2011 in advancing the Reflex Teaching Method both as a teacher and curriculum developer. Using an innovative and highly effective approach, the Reflex Teaching Method makes it possible to efficiently train one's language reflexes in order to jumpstart the language learning process so that the students can immediately begin 'using' the language in real, natural, meaningful communication.

You will be teaching in our pilot school to children aged between three and twelve as well as developing materials and syllabi. The job may include a few conversation and business classes during the mid-afternoon and the children's classes are from 16:30 - 20:05. The academy is located in Majadahonda on the outskirts of Madrid - a 30 minute bus ride from Moncloa.

You should be dedicated, reliable and passionate about teaching but most of all, have excellent rapport with children. Comprehensive training in our method, teaching skills, behaviour management and materials writing will be provided.

The position demands 35 hours per week (20 teaching hours) with paid vacation included. The working hours are 13:30 - 20:15, Monday to Thursday and 13:30-19:30 on Fridays with slightly longer Fridays once a month for training and development.

The contract is for a minimum of one year but ideally two years with a starting salary of €1200 per month. The school year would be mid-September to the end of June, with the possibility of summer workshops (cooking, science, theatre, arts and crafts) or summer camps in the month of July.

The starting date is the beginning of September 2011 with two weeks of training and preparation.

Our position offers the unique career opportunity to be part of cutting edge development in EFL teaching methods, and the chance to design and implement powerful ideas to accelerate language acquisition for young learners.

Please only apply if you are already in Madrid or can be here for an interview, as we like to meet the candidates in person.

Applicants should contact Jonathan by email at address provided using the email as a cover letter describing your interest in this position. Please attach your resume and a photo of yourself.

Thank you for your interest.
Jonathan Lipschitz
