December Position Available in Jimei District of Xiamen

We are in search of a mid-year replacement English teacher to start December 3rd. The contract would be until early/mid-July, with the possibility for renewing the following academic year. This is a great opportunity to work in one of China’s cleanest and most livable cities!

THE SETTING: Xiamen Yingcai School is located on the mainland, in Jimei District of Xiamen. It is a large and well established K-12 private boarding school. Yingcai is home to over 3000 students and 600 staff. It boasts a beautiful and modern campus covering an area of 41 acres. We provide students with dormitory-style living and a very safe and secure study environment. Yingcai has computer labs, a library, art center, large gymnasium and sports center, music department, swimming pool, central air conditioning, and high speed internet network. The International Education Center at Yingcai was initiated in 2008 to help prepare students for university overseas.

THE POSITION: The maximum workload is 20 teaching hours (40 minute periods) per week. This position will include 8 periods per week with Junior students (ages 12-14) and 8-12 periods teaching Senior 1-3. Senior 1-3 classes will focus mainly on preparing students for IELTS/TOEFL exams. Office hours are required as well and can be discussed in the interview.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree

- TEFL certificate

- 2 years full-time work experience

PREFERRED:

- 2 years teaching experience

- native speaker

- experience preparing students for IELTS, TOEFL, ACT, or SAT

- experience teaching Business or Computers

FOREIGN TEACHER SALARY AND CONDITIONS: 1. Monthly Salary: 9,000 - 11,000 RMB per month depending on qualifications and subjects taught. 3. Airfare: 7500 RMB round-trip airfare reimbursement for completing one year’s contract and re-signing for the following year or 3500 without re-signing 4. Travel Allowance: 2,000 RMB traveling allowance will be provided for completing one academic year’s contract. 5. Meal Allowance: Free meals included. 6. Insurance: Provided in accordance with government requirements. 7. Vacation: paid winter vacation and national holidays. 8. Z-visa and Foreign Expert's Certificate: all sponsorship and paperwork provided by school. 9. Accommodation: Shared teacher dormitory-style housing provided free of charge.
