Position Overview

The Language Learning Director will oversee all academic operations within their assigned Language Learning Center. The LLD manages all Foreign and Assistant Trainers within their Center, ensuring staff retention and ongoing development, and ensuring consistent excellence in program delivery for learners aged 2-12.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Motivate staff and support continuous development of skills needed to deliver an academically effective and engaging language learning experience

Ensure consistency in academic excellence experience by observing lessons regularly, and providing constructive coaching and development to Trainers

Provide ongoing leadership to Trainers, delivering timely and constructive feedback, in addition to comprehensive performance reviews at company determined intervals

Ensure swift and successful resolution to any academic, operational and/or personnel issues as they arise

Ensure that comprehensive learner records are maintained by each Trainer in both print and electronic format through occasional audits and on-going training assessments

Conduct ongoing staff meetings to communicate all changes in the academic delivery or content and resolve all pertinent learner and classroom management issues

Oversee the classroom schedules for all Trainers to deliver optimal staff utilization based on the number of enrolled learners

Provide coverage for absent Trainers, and deliver lesson content to learners as needed

Collaborating with the Center Manager, support the Marketing and Sales teams in meeting new learner enrollment targets, participating in academic and sales events within the Center

Through the delivery of guest service excellence and measurable academic results, and support of the sales process, ensure that Center performance goals are met through new learner enrollment and existing learner renewals

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution

A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in education, management and guest service

Internationally recognized TEFL or TESOL certification

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Proven success in team leadership, performance management and staff development

A passion for educating young learners, with a focus on delivering measurable results

Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment, flexible to change and able to manage multiple priorities

Demonstrated success in delivering high quality customer service

Professionalism in oral and written communications

English language fluency including, but not limited to: proper grammar, sentence structure, word tense, subject-verb agreement, and proper use of adjectives and adverbs

Demonstration of a neutral accent, clear pronunciation, good intonation and English language rhythm

Resourceful, self-motivated, with creative problem solving skills

Ability to commit to a 12-15 month contract in China

Desired Qualifications:

Experience traveling internationally and/or working abroad

Successful experience managing cross cultural teams

Familiarity/affinity with the Disney brand

Compensation and Benefits

18,000 RMB monthly salary

7,000 RMB training bonus

3,000-4,350 RMB monthly housing allowance

Eligibility for additional quarterly incentive, based upon overall center performance

TEFL-C Certification

Health and Dental Insurance

Minimum 40 hour per week work schedule, inclusive of evenings and weekends

3 weeks hotel accommodation upon arrival in China

Paid airfare to China and a monthly travel stipend toward return trip

Rosetta Stone Mandarin license

Robust Academic Training

Paid sick and vacation time, plus 11 Chinese national holidays

Location: Centers are located in over 10 cities, including: Beijing, Wuhan, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Ningbo, Chongqing.
