Efl Teacher (part-time) - Hangzhou

Bell is working in partnership with Qian Jin Education to deliver an English course to elementary and pre-intermediate level students at Hangzhou University. Students will be taking either KET or PET English courses to prepare them to join the Bell University Foundation Programme, and for future UK university study.

We are currently recruiting a part-time teacher to teach both courses for 6 hours a week (up to 12 hours a week in total) for 10 weeks of each Chinese academic semester, until the end of the Chinese academic year. A full curriculum and training support will be provided by Bell and the teacher will be employed locally by Qian Jin in Hangzhou.

The scheduled start date for this project is 20th October and candidates must be available to fully commit to the hours specified above for the duration of the contract.

Please note that because of the part time nature of this role we are looking for a teacher who is already based in Hangzhou or wider Zhejiang Province.

For our partners Bell provides Employment Agency Services as defined in the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. The successful candidate will be employed directly by Qian Jin Education and will report to the local course director in Hangzhou.

Person Specification:

Candidates must have the following qualifications and experience:

- Degree level qualified

- CELTA qualification (or equivalent)

- Experience teaching teenagers and young adults

- EFL teaching experience, with an emphasis on English for Academic Purposes

- Based in Hangzhou or wider Zhejiang Province

Desirable:

- Delta (or equivalent)

- Experience of teaching English to teenagers & young adults, particularly those with a low English level.

- Experience of teaching monolingual groups

- Experience of teaching in a Chinese university environment

- Experience in preparing students for Cambridge English exams

- Experience of using technology in the classroom and working with blended learning curriculums
