English Teaching Job at KIST
Korean International School in Tianjin (KIST) is looking for a qualified, confident, cooperative native English teacher. We need one full-time English teacher for the elementary school.
KIST is located in Tianjin, a metropolis in northern China, around thirty minutes away from Beijing by express train. The city boasts its long history, low prices, public safety, and many tourist attractions.
1. Brief Introduction of KIST
‣ Founded in 2001, KIST is a Korean international school accredited by the Korean Ministry of Education. We have about 840 students in K-12 and a staff of around 90 teachers, including 22 foreign English and Chinese teachers.

2. Terms of Contract
‣ Contract period: March 1st, 2019 ~ February 28th, 2021 (starting date can be varied due to the issuing a Chinese work permit)
This contract can be renewed if both parties(you and KIST) agree.
‣ Working hours: 8 hours (Monday through Friday)
‣ Number of classes a week (5-18 students in each class)
Elementary: 21 ⨯ 40 minute classes
3. Qualifications & Documents to Submit
‣ Required Qualifications
1) Bachelor¡¯s Degree or higher one
2) Holding a passport from one of the following English speaking countries:
US, UK, CAN, AUS, NZ, IRELAND, South Africa
(Must be a native speaker of English)
3) At least two years of teaching experience
‣ Preferred Qualifications
1) Teaching Credentials from your home country
2) ESL certificates (CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, TESL)
‣ Documents to Submit
1) The Application form (sent to you by email after reviewing your resume of any form)
2) A scanned copy of diploma
3) A scanned official academic transcript from your educational institution (universities)
4) A scanned passport (the photo page of your passport)
5) An officially stamped proof of employment from previous educational workplaces (or a confirmation letter of your hirer with his or her signature and phone number)
6) Scanned copies of other preferred certificates (if you have)
4. Salary & Welfare
‣ Initial basic salary: 15,140 RMB
‣ Housing allowance: 4,000 - 4,850 RMB per month
(It depends on how many family members live with you in the house.)
‣ Qualification Incentive: starting from 515 RMB per month
e.g. If you have a Master¡¯s degree, a TEFL (over 100 hrs), and a year of teaching experience at a Korean public school, you will have extra 1,545 RMB per month.
‣ Career Incentive: extra 515 RMB per month for every two years of work completed at KIST.
‣ Paid airfare for your first flight (from your home country or the country you currently reside under employment at the time of hiring) and your return flight (to your home country at the end of your two-year contract or longer)
‣ Paid Summer and Winter Vacation
2018 summer vacation: July 19 ~ Aug.20
2018 winter vacation: Jan.12 2019 ~ Feb.25 2019
The first and last days of each vacation vary slightly every year.
Classes start on the 4th day of March, 2019.
‣ Medical Insurance
‣ Option of doing after-school classes for extra income
‣ Daily lunch provided in the school cafeteria.
‣ The school will pay a yearly bonus called ¡®1 Year Completion bonus¡¯, 50% of basic salary, after you finish working one year.
‣ The school has traditionally paid a yearly bonus named ¡®Performance bonus¡¯, 40% ~ 60% of basic salary, considering each one¡¯s work done in the previous year.
5. Procedure: application documents reviewing ¡ú an interview and a mini demonstration of a lesson. If possible, you can send us videoclips of your actual classes, instead of showing a teaching demonstration in front of interviewers.
