English as a Foreign Language (efl) Instructor
US-based language services company is seeking an experienced instructor of English as a foreign language (EFL) for a one- to three-year US government contract project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The project involves teaching adult students based on existing curriculum. The work location is near Abu Dhabi.
US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED. Must be eligible for UAE residency.
Instructor Responsibilities:
• Develop weekly lesson plans
• Conduct classes while maintaining a student-centered classroom
• Administer periodic curriculum based skills assessment and testing (oral and written)
• Conduct laboratory sessions (computer/multimedia)
• Maintain student performance, attendance and academic records on a daily/weekly basis
• Conduct student counseling sessions
• Participate in additional projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
-Native level English proficiency or equivalent
-Prior adult education experience
-Master's degree in TESOL or similar field
Preferred Qualifications:
-Well organized and able to deliver lesson plan clearly
-Maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and working environment
-Adhere to all worksite rules and regulations
Housing, transportation and travel/to from the UAE will be provided.
Compensation is competitive.
Daily duties of job may entail walking, sitting, use of hands in daily tasks (such as typing, feeling controls, handling objects, etc.), reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
