English ESL Teachers needed in Qingdao, China

Job Description: ESL teachers with at least 6 month contract. Short terms from April to August are available.

The teachers will teach ESL and play with children at an upscale bilingual Montessori Kindergarten.

This program is organized by the Chinese Montessori Society (CMS - http://www.montessori-china.org) and American Montessori Institute (AMI - http://www.ami-montessori.org)

Starting Time: 03/2012 or anytime.

Location: The teachers will teach at a CMS affiliated bilingual Montessori Kindergarten in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. Qingdao is a beautiful city in China at http://v.youku.com/v_playlist/f1614486o1p1.html

Numbers: 10 teachers needed, both male and female are welcome to apply.

Teaching Times: 25 hours per week.

Salary: 6000~15000 RMB ($1000 - $2500 US) per month depending on qualification, plus bonus, free Chinese lesson. 12 months per year including summer and winter vacation (total of 3 weeks). At least 90 RMB per hour for overtime teaching.

Accommodations: Free. (a private apartment equipped with cooking utilities, bathroom, washing machine, television, refrigerator, water dispenser.)

Food Allowances: Free working lunch at school from Monday to Friday.

Visa: Working Z-visa assistance.

Flight allowance: 6600 RMB for 1-year working period, half for 6-month working period. (half paid after arrival, the other half will be paid when fulfilling the contract.

Requirements: 1. Applicants must be English native speakers; 2. Age 20 - 50; 3. Healthy, active and dynamic; 4. Applicants with TESOL/TEFL certification; 5. Applicants with Montessori credentials are greatly welcome.

What Differences between teaching ESL for adults and Teaching English for kids

at one of Montessori kindergartens of the Chinese Montessori Society (CMS), Qingdao, Shandong Province, China

To teach kids is very different from just teaching ESL for adults. Most of teachings to kids are just playing with kids. We just need to provide the English environments for kids not let teachers to teach them too much. Thus, teachers in kindergartens will not be busy as teaching ESL, especially teaching ESL for an adult's class. We hope that teaching kids means 'living' with kids. Just using English to instruct kids' daily life and learning subjects such as math, sensory, culture and so on just like a kindergarten teacher in USA. Thus, as a three-teacher team you need to work with our Chinese kindergarten teachers. Thus, the ESL teaching hours mean just as three hours to teach and two hours to play, five hours per day, five day a week, total 25 working hours.
