English Program in Korea (epik)


Gone2Korea is an official agent of the English Program in Korea (EPIK) which is the main public school program in South Korea. We also help place teachers in private hagwons throughout the country.


Education degrees are not required


Previous teaching experience is not required


We accept applications year round, but we are actively seeking applications for the spring 2014 public school transition requiring a 3rd week of February departure. If you are interested in teaching conversational English in South Korea, we are happy to guide you through the process. Our services are free of charge to you as a teacher candidate.


Gone2Korea has been recruiting teachers to teach in Korea since 2002 and we feel we have the in depth knowledge that new teachers can utilize when considering a teaching job in South.


QUALIFICATIONS


• A bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Education degrees are not required but we do have some clients specifically looking for certified teachers.
• Clean, fingerprint based, federal level criminal abstract (no convictions or charges on your background check)
• Valid Passport
• Citizenship from one of the following countries (Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa)
• Must be a native English speaker – English being your first spoken language
• Must be in good physical and mental health
• Must be a confident public speaker and enjoy working with kids


JOB DETAILS COULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING


• Classroom based teaching (class size of 8-15 students per class for the private sector and 20-35 students in the public sector)
• 18-30 hours of in class teaching per week (Monday to Friday) school pending.
• Engage your students with fun and exciting lessons
• Introduce the curriculum outlined in your weekly or monthly syllabus
• Mark the homework you assign
• Mark tests and quizzes
• Assess your students English abilities and complete monthly or bi-monthly report cards
• Provide your manager with student development reports
• Attend weekly or bi-weekly staff meetings
