English Teachers Needed

We are International Sunshine Home, a bilingual Montessori school for kids ages 2-5 looking for a great lead teacher (or two) to join our family.

Our school offers a mix of English, Chinese, and Montessori classes. Our nurturing environment respects and challenges our children. Together with the parents of our children, we are building a better community and a better future for everyone.

As one of the school founders, I can say from my heart that I am so proud of our team and all that we do at our school. Through our dedication and commitment to our children and to constant improvement, we have become Xiamen's premier school for students in our age group.

That is entirely thanks to our team. We are looking for teachers who care passionately about children and education, who treat teaching as a mission, not simply a job.

Because our first branch filled up, we have added a second location. We are looking for a lead English teacher to join our family (bilingual Chinese teachers accompany teachers in class) at each site.

The qualities that we seek in a teacher are: high energy, a positive attitude and a love of children. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We provide a curriculum, a year-long academic outline (in 2-week blocks), sample lesson plans, suggested in-class activities and various printable materials, though we invite qualified teachers to tailor the class to their strengths and preferences.

The class size for all our classes is capped at 18 students, with an assistant teacher and caregiver for each class. The student-teacher ratio is 6:1.

Applicants should hold either a Montessori training certificate or a certificate in teaching English as a second language. Practical Montessori experience with young children is a major plus. Applicants with advanced degrees will be given preferred consideration. A university degree and two years of experience are required for us to be able to offer a work visa.

We offer housing assistance, annual airfare compensation, visa, medical insurance, paid holidays and a re-sign bonus. Salary will be dependent upon applicant’s experience and qualifications.
