Test Preparation Instructor

If you are a graduate of a top 50 U.S. university who has scored above the 90th percentile on SAT or an equivalent examination and who has experience successfully tutoring, teaching, or mentoring high school students, you may have what it takes to be a Test Preparation Instructor at Prestige Only. As a Test Preparation Instructor, your primary responsibility will be working with students by teaching them how to recognize and respond strategically to common question types, building the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed on a range of examinations, and devising study plans that take into account students’ academic goals and individual learning needs. Test Preparation Instructors will have at their disposal a proprietary, adaptive online learning system (www.prepsmith.com), course workbooks created by an in-house R&D team, and training on the international admissions process and the importance of test preparation.

Qualifications
o 90th percentile score on the SAT, ACT, SSAT, or an equivalent examination
o Diploma from a top 50 US college or university
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA
o Academic background in the History, English, Science, or a similar field
o Familiarity with the Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate examinations
o Exceptionally strong presentation and critical communication skills
o One year or 500 hours experience tutoring, teaching, or mentoring high school students is a plus

Responsibilities
o Teaching live and online test preparation courses to small groups and individual students
o Teaching at least one academic subject in addition to test preparation (e.g., Literature or History)
o Diagnosing student’s weaknesses and devising study plans based on their unique learning needs
o Working with consultants to target examination results consistent with admissions goals
o Participating in periodic trainings and online meetings with central test preparation management

Senior Consultant

If you are a graduate from top 50 university with strong communication skills, interest in international consulting, and passion for working with young students, you might have what it takes to be a Senior Consultant (SC) at Prestige Only. As a SC, your primary task will be working with students: monitoring their academic progress, providing key insight into western education, and assisting with their college application processes.
The SC plays a vital role in mentoring students, assisting in achieving their educational goals by making personalized academic and extracurricular plans for each student. SC should expect to actively contribute to internal resource development geared towards enhancing student’s academic skills. The bulk of the application work centers on developing the student’s application essays and personal statement with the end goal of helping students gain acceptance to the school of their choice. SC is expected to effectively manage all students communication via phone, email, WeChat and Skype. SC is also expected to communicate frequently and clearly with their bilingual Operations Consultant partner, who manages translation and parent communication, and assists in scheduling.

Qualifications
o Graduate of a top 50 US University/College
o Passion for education, foreign cultures, and working with young scholars
o Planning and organizational skills
o Excellent English writing and editing skills, and superb verbal communication skills
o Ability to work independently under pressure
o Experience in education, writing, editing, admission counseling, mentorship, and tutoring is a plus

Responsibilities:
o Working with consulting team to handle cases (10 seniors & 10 non-seniors)
o Crafting students’ strategy (choosing school and test preparation) and tracking students’ progress
o Developing students’ activities and service involvement
o Holding meetings with students-parents and sending meeting notes to both
o Counseling on written portion of college applications
o Conducting internal and external seminars
o Develop independent projects / resources

Remuneration, Benefits and others
Prestige Only will offer the right candidates very competitive base salaries commensurate with talent and experience as well as opportunities for bonuses and career advancement. Averagely, the salary will range from 16K to 20K CNY per month. Compensation includes on-board flight ticket, 5K per month housing allowance and 2 week onboard hotel. We also provide airport pick-up, legitimate work visas, health insurance, 10 annual holidays, 12 vacation days and 5 sick days. Expected teaching and working hour: 27.5 hours/week and two days off per week.
