English Teachers Wanted in Zhejiang Province (lanxi-jinhua)
A+ Foreign Language Training Center is American and Chinese owned and services over 2,800 students. We provide advanced language and performance training utilizing foreign native English speaking teachers. As a result of our contributions in and out of the classroom our teachers are held in high regard and shown respect throughout the community. We appreciate and invest in all of our teachers by providing extensive preparation, training and on-going classroom support so as to maintain the high level of service our schools, students, and parents have come to appreciate. Every year, since 2008, we have had students place in the provincial and national English language competitions.
Our training center services the city of Lanxi (population 660,000). Lanxi is less than 25km from the prefecture city of Jinhua (population - 4,614,100) in Zhejiang. Both cities are less than 3 1/2 hours south of Shanghai and 2 hours south of the prime tourist city and provincial capital city Hangzhou (population 8,100,000).
We are in need of two charismatic foreign teachers who enjoy sharing their culture and language. We provide free housing to our teachers and a salary ranging between 5,000 and 10,000 RMB a month (based on experience). We will pay for and assist in the processing of the Z visa and will contribute up to 6,000 RMB towards a plane ticket for teachers who complete one-year contract.
Who may apply?
We are only able to accept applications from people, with at least under-graduate degrees, from the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
How many teachers are needed? 2
How much will I get paid?
Our teachers receive a basic salary of 6,000-10,000RMB per month (depending on experience). The school will also provide teachers with an allowance to buy a bike, should they so wish to.
How many hours will I be expected to work?
You are expected to work 26 to 28 hours per week. This doesn’t sound like much, but when considering class preparation time, it is a full-time job, especially at the weekends, which is our busiest time.
Is there a housing allowance? Yes, the school also provides an extra 1000 RMB per month as a housing allowance.
Will I be provided with an apartment? Yes. Some apartments are individual and some are shared. The apartment comes furnished with bed, refrigerator, sofa, closet, bathroom, air conditioner, bed sheets, pillow, and wi-fi.
What are the monthly expenses for the apartment? Teachers are expected to pay for electricity and bottled water, which on a monthly average is 60-200 depending on air conditioner usage.
What about food? Food is organized and paid by teachers individually. However, if part of your teaching schedule includes teaching at a middle school, you may eat the school for free.
Will someone meet me at the airport? Yes, if flying into Hangzhou. If flying to Shanghai the train is very convenient and we will pick you up when you arrive at the train station.
Is there a flight bonus? Each teacher receives a 6,000 to 8,000 RMB flight bonus with applicable receipts to be paid half after you arrive and the other have when you complete the term-length of your contract.
Are there any office hours? You are not expected to complete any office hours, leaving you with the freedom to plan your classes at home. However, there are staff meetings, event planning meetings, and public classes and parties which you will be expected to attend.
What about a visa?
The school will provide you with a valid “Z” (work) visa and a foreign expertise certificate. This means that you can enter/exit the country as much as you like during your time here.
Do I need to leave the country to get the “Z” visa if I travel here on a tourist visa?
Yes, you will have to fly to your home country or Hong Kong. Regular salary is paid during this time.
What are the ages of the students?
We service young children all the way through second-middle school. Additionally, we have VIP classes which may serve any age including adults. Teachers will be selected to either teach only younger children or older students but not a mix. If teaching younger students, an assistant will be provided.
What are the class sizes?
Normal class size ranges 10 to 45.
