ESL Instructor for Off-site Contract - Jeddah/madinah

JOB DETAILS:

Title: ESL instructor

Anticipated Start Date: April/May 2012

Appointment Type: Temporary Renewable Appointment

Locations: Mining Facility near Madinah, Saudi Arabia

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Native or near-native fluency in the English language; at least one year teaching experience and familiarity with ESL teaching methods; proven ability to work as part of a team; evidence of recent/continuing professional development; ability to work with students who have little or no experience with the English language

Preferred: Several years teaching experience in Saudi Arabia, computer skills. Special expertise in teaching true beginners, as well as expertise in one of the core skill areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Willingness to live in a compound far away from a city. Local candidates are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include lesson planning, materials development, curriculum development and feedback, attending faculty meetings, attending orientation and culminating activities, assessment testing and scoring, evaluating textbooks, submitting syllabi for courses taught, and grading and attendance recordkeeping. Instructors also need to work collaboratively with other instructors, CALL lab assistants and staff to help students meet individual course and program goals.

COMPENSATION:

9000SR to 12000SR per month commensurate with qualifications and experience

Transportation from work-site to Jeddah every weekend or transportation allowance

On-site housing and meals are provided without charge
