Position: Full time English language teacher
Interviewing: Now
Ref #: SHSZTT04M
The Job
Shane English School was established in 1977. Since that time it has grown to more than 350 schools in five countries. Our focus has always been on providing quality lessons to students, young and old alike. We recognize that good lessons require good teachers therefore we provide excellent training, ongoing development as well as opportunities for promotion and advancement.
With thousands of students coming through our doors every year we make every effort to maintain the highest standards in education by providing excellent course materials, technology and an engaging learning environment. We warmly invite candidates who believe in our vision to join our team to assist us in helping our students to speak better English.
Students
The majority of our students are young learners aged from 3 to 18 years old and teachers enjoy teaching to a variety of ages throughout the week. Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest time of the week with evening classes and outside lessons on weekdays. We also offer some offsite lessons and corporate-client lessons so teachers will have the opportunities to teach a range of ages. The maximum young learner class size is 8 students and 10 students maximum for an adult class.
Courses
Courses are designed around a core of set texts and supplementary materials. Teachers are encouraged to use a communicative approach to teaching and to add their own extra resources and ideas to bring variety to the learning environment. The school is equipped with five large classrooms with all necessary teaching resources. Internet access and photocopying facilities are also available for teachers’ use. Teachers will be given plenty of support and guidance as well as thorough training in all aspects of their lessons.
Shenzhen – The City
Shenzhen is a vibrant, modern Chinese city located in the south east of China in Guangdong province, just 30 minutes from Hong Kong. As China’s very first ‘Special Economic Zone’ Shenzhen has grown into an exciting place to live with an international mix of people, a variety of shopping options, lots of great food and a buzzing expat community. The climate is sub tropical, situated on the Tropic of Cancer, winters are mild and summers get really hot.
As the city has developed and become richer visitors are increasingly drawn by Shenzhen's famous architecture, shopping, bars, restaurants and active art scene. The city’s beaches have become famous throughout China and its Dapeng Peninsula was nominated by the China National Geographic Magazine as one of the most beautiful coastlines in the country.
