ESL Positions in Vietnam:
1. School Address: 2/79 Cho Don Street, Nghia Xa Ward, Le Chan District, Haiphong
2. Start date of position? Immediately
3. Numbers of foreign teachers at school and local staffs? 12 - 25
4. Student age? 3-18
5. Class size? 12-45
6. Teaching hours (class schedules please)? 90-100 hours/month
Time to come to school?
There are 3 shifts/day: Morning 7.00-11.30, Afternoon 12.30-17.30, Evening 18.00-21.15
Each class length? 30-90 min
Coffee break length? 10-15 min
Lunch Break Length? 1 hour and a half – 2 hours (depends on the schedule)
How many classes to teach daily? Average: 8 classes (Each class 40-45 min)
What time can teacher go home?
This depends on the teacher’s schedule. They can go home after their work in the afternoon after 17.30 or in the evening after 21.15. Normally DTLC arranges so that teachers can work 2 shifts per day (morning & afternoon or morning & evening…)
Are there any overtime? If so, are they mandatory? What is the overtime pay?
Overtime pay : 15 USD/hour (Pls have a look more at the contract)
7. Weekend classes are available (or mandatory)? Sunday off- fixed
8. Salary range? 1000-1200 USD (depends on teacher’s qualification with M.A or B.A and teaching certificate). B.A is the must to do work permit in Vietnam when teachers sign a year contract.
9. Distance between accommodation and the school and does teacher have to use by public transit and how long does it take to get to school? From 1 to 7 Kms
10. Description of accommodation (or photos), and are there shops, theater, restaurants in the neighborhood. How far is this accommodation from downtown and easy to get around? Accommodation in the Center City
11. Health insurance covered? Who pays the premium? Teacher buy insurance themselves, the school pay for 6 days/a year of sickness instead
12. Round trip air tickets are covered? Or partially covered? How much? See the Labor Contract
13. Vacation (how many days)? Are they consecutive? When are they? See the Labor Contract
14. Is there any bonus? See the Labor Contract
15. What the teachers will teach (please be specific) and what levels?
16. Are there any orientation or training? If so, how many days? Are they paid for at what rates?
17. Who will pick up the teacher when they arrive at the airport? If the teacher has to find it on his/her own, please let us know how he /she gets there from the airport School
18. Potential candidate: age restriction? Nationality preference? Skin color preference? / Education level restriction?
19. Based on your experience with former foreign teacher in the past, what do you want us to train them or explain thoroughly to them about so that they won’t be surprised when they arrive?
Requirements
1. Native English speakers from the following countries: British, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.
Skin: White
2. Age restrict: 22 – 45 years old
3. Due to Vietnamese visa policy, the candidates should have:
• Qualification: - Bachelor degree or higher
- TEFL, CELTA or relevant certificate
• Clean criminal record check 6 months prior to start
4. Adaptable, open minded, energetic, enthusiastic
5. Teaching experience preferred
Salary
Normally the salary we offer includes housing also. However, teachers can decide to live outside with an amount of 100 USD allowance.
1000 USD: B.A, no experience
1100 USD: B.A, experience 1-2 years
1200 USD: B.A or MA with experience
