ESL Teacher for Teaching Adults

ABOUT US:

We are, in a partnership with an American publisher magnate - National Geographic Learning, is now offering opportunities to teach in China in HIGH-END Adult English. As a consequence of a new program development, we are currently recruiting some highly-qualified foreign experts to be devoted to English teaching for the students who are experiencing their tertiary education at colleges and universities.

The course available in WORLD offers a pathway for Chinese students to be benchmarked with CEFR. The course invests in state-of-the-art teaching resources to bring the best experiences to students and teachers.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will be part of a supportive team, focused on achieving an outstanding student experience in a practical, entertaining and scholarly environment.  

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing/updating/reviewing learning materials, assessments and solutions to ensure a quality student learning experience
• Basic weekly workload: 25 teaching hours + 15 office hours
• Making demo classes as required
• Providing academic guidance and support to students
• Doing proper improvements on classes based on the feedbacks of students
• Joining periodical R&D of Teaching Meetings
• Maintaining good and long-term relationships with students
• Co-assisting the team to organize ECA (Extra-curricular Activities)
• The teacher is required to work on the weekend but can have two days off on the weekdays. The total working hours, including teaching hours and office hours are no more than 40 hours per week.

The existing course system is short-term based, its contents are consistent with a Textbook called ‘Keynote’ which is issued by National Georgraphic Learning Publisher.

The range of level of our course is from Level 1 to Level 6. Students will sit in a placement test to help us and students themselves confirm which level they can begin with for the future learning journey.

The size of class is from 8 to 12 students.

Critical Requirements

• A relevant bachelor’s degree or above
• A relevant teaching qualification and two or more years’ teaching experience in language centres
• TESOL/TEFL/CELTA Certificate (CELTA is a PLUS)
• Very good practical skills and theoretical knowledge in English
• Experience and understanding of Chinese studetns is preferred
• High levels of communication skills
• The ability to work independently to meet student needs and contribute to increased student satisfaction

• Salary Range: RMB 17,000 to 18,000 per subject per month
