ESL teaching opportunity in scenic Sichuan Province, China, starting in September, with full support before and during stay in China

Pengzhou city, Sichuan province, China

STUDENTS LEVEL
Preschool students: 3 - 6 years old; or
Elementary school students: G3 to G4, 9 - 10 years old

NUMBER OF INSTRUCTORS NEEDED
2 instructors needed. Each instructor is assigned to teach in either the preschool or in the elementary school. Couples and friends are encouraged to apply together.

CONTRACT PERIOD
September 1, 2016 - August 31st, 2017

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Native English speaker
2. Preferably with bachelor's degree (any field of study)
3. Out-going personality and love working with kids

WORK SCHEDULE
Preschool working hours: 8:50 am - 11:30 am & 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Monday ¨C Friday
or
Elementary school working hours: 9 am - 4 pm, Monday-Thursday, maximum 22 classes/wk, each class duration is 40 min

JOB DUTIES
1. Preparing lesson plans and delivering classes focusing on teaching conversational English
2. Participating school meetings and academic events

BENEFITS
1. Full support of legal working Z visa in China, Foreign Expert Certificate, and Residence Permit

2. Remuneration during teaching months: RMB 8,000/mth

3. A travel subsidy of RMB 6,000/semester from the preschool; or a travel subsidy of RMB 4,000/semester from the elementary school

4. Winter vacation (approx. 3 weeks during Chinese New Year)

5. Rent-free shared housing (2-bedroom apartment with kitchen and washroom). Instructors share personal expenditures such as apartment utilities (water/gas/electricity), internet, cable TV, strata fee etc.

ABOUT PENGZHOU CITY
Pengzhou city under the jurisdiction of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, China. The intercity train between Pengzhou and Chengdu is less than 30 minutes. Pengzhou is well-known for its beautiful peony gardens, the city is one of the three peony capitals in China.

Pengzhou city museum covers 3,000 years of local history, its assortment of relics is well presented, earning praise during national and international exhibitions. The museum especially prides itself on its significant collection of Song Dynasty gold and silver pieces. The north area of the city was a hotspot for missionary work in the 1800s, and the French-style architecture preserved in local houses and the church, built by a French priest in the early 1900s, delights visitors and provides a scenic spot very popular among wedding photographers.

Further north the Jiufeng Mountain offers scenic hiking with beautiful examples of long-forgotten and reconstructed Buddhist and Taoist temples along the way as well as river boat trips. Pengzhou also has a National Baishuihe Panda Nature Reserve, a 300-square-kilometer reserve with altitudes reaching 4,800 meters that is home to some 1,770 plant species and 331 animal species, including rare giant pandas, red pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, the Himalayan eagle, Chinese Monal, and various birds. Since it's so close to Chengdu city, Pengzhou offers a great mix of history, sightseeing, hiking and wildlife to Chengdu weekend escapists and visitors around the world.
