Exciting Opportunity for Teachers & Trainers to Join a Cutting-edge Project
EFL Positions in Beijing, immediate start (after one month visa application process): Due to continuing demand from our government partners, we need more experienced English language teachers & trainers! The Chaoyang English Project is a collaboration between a well established international school and the district Education Committee, it aims to improve students’ communication ability in English and develop the local teachers’ English language skills, teaching methodology & pedagogy.
There are two models: a model of team teaching, where experienced foreign teachers work with a local teaching partner delivering English lessons through team teaching and collaboration; plus a teacher trainer model whereby foreign trainers work with local elementary/middle school English teachers in a cycle of observation & feedback.
There is a diverse, ongoing PD & training program for all & China living support for foreign staff. This project is a high profile project & a chance to contribute to the development of education in Chaoyang District, Beijing.
Teaching Duties may include:
*Co-plan & prepare resources based on the local English textbooks
*Team teach English lessons with local partner
*Keep up to date planning & reflection notes
*Assist with special performances or festivals
*Participate in related research; provide feedback; conduct tests & surveys
Training Duties may include:
*Supervision cycle: planning support, observation & prompt feedback for teachers
*Varied support models: one-to-one, small group & cross-site
*Reporting & reflection: daily feedback, weekly updates & summary reporting
*Provide ongoing feedback & input for project implementation
Salary & Conditions:
*Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications & experience
*Housing & airfare allowances
*Medical insurance & work visa provided
**Work hours approximately 8am-4pm (Mon-Fri), timetable approximately 20 x 40minute periods per week (including between 3-6 co-planning periods for team teachers)
Trainer Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Native English speaker
2. University Degree
3. ESL/EFL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA/DELTA or recognized (general) Teaching certification
4. Min. of 2 years’ school teaching or ESL/EFL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA training experience (English teaching/training experience in China/Asia preferred)
5. A passion for contributing and making a difference through education
6. Attributes such as patience, teamwork & collaboration, strong communication & presentation skills and a positive attitude.
