Fantastic ESL Teacher!
New China Language Recruitment
Fantastic ESL Teacher!
We are looking for English language teachers and trainers for private language schools in the famous and ancient city of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.
Xi'an is the capital city of Shaanxi Province in the central northwest region of China, and roughly two hours flying time from Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Xi'an is currently home to more than 8 million people and covers area of more than 10,000 km2 During Xian's most successful periods, the city was home to more than two million people and boasts a history spanning more than 3,000 years.
Chang'an, meaning 'perpetual peace', as Xi'an was most famously known historically, was one of the four great capitals of China throughout the Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang Dynasties. During these important periods Xi'an was known as one of the most developed and multicultural cities in the world. Part of Xian's historical success was due to its relationship with the Silk Road which connected Central Asia to Persia, Byzantium and the Middle-East. This brought thousands of traders, scholars and students into Xi'an which contributed to the cultural and physical development of the city.
The schools we work with teach students using the 'communicative approach' and require teachers who have experience with this method. Our clients are based all over the city and offer varying teaching environments with a range of student profiles and classes. However, the majority of our partners focus on young learners (that being, 6 - 12 year old students). Those who have taught children in the past will be aware of the tremendous sense of fulfilment a teacher feels when helping, and working with children. Yes, these classes can sometimes be demanding, but the personal rewards are huge.
Depending on the school, you will be responsible for an agreed set of classes which you will teach weekly, or twice weekly. Classes may vary from 45 minutes to 120 minutes (+ break). Weekends are usually the busiest times for private language schools and therefore you will be required all day Saturday and Sunday. Most schools will offer you two days off a week, but you will be required to late afternoon/evening during the week.
