Full Time ESL Positions in Beijing, August 2012 Start

Experienced ESL Teachers & Trainers Wanted to join an exciting & rapidly expanding English Language Project in Beijing

The Chaoyang English Project is a collaboration between a well-established International School in Beijing & the regional Department of Education. This project is a part of the Chaoyang District’s process of 'internationalization' - in all areas of government, education and enterprise. Teachers will be working closely with our local teaching partners through team teaching and collaboration. There is ongoing professional development & training for all staff and an opportunity to contribute to the development of education in Chaoyang District.

The Project aims to improve students’ communication ability in English and also to develop the local teachers’ English mastery and teaching methodology. Team teaching positions in the local schools are at elementary & middle school levels. A variety of teaching models will be used. Training positions are also available for suitably experienced foreign trainers to work with groups of local teachers – also in elementary & middle school. There is also an opportunity for an overall training coordinator, the selected applicant will work closely with the Head of Program to design & deliver relevant training.

Teaching Duties may include:

*Team teaching English lessons with local partner

*Co-plan & prepare resources based on the local English textbooks

*Keep up to date planning & reflection notes

*Assist with special performances or festivals

*Model western teaching pedagogy adapted for the Chinese environment

*Participate in related research; provide feedback; conduct tests & surveys

Training Duties may include:

*Supervision cycle: planning support, observation & prompt feedback for teachers

*Varied support models: one-to-one, small group & cross-site

*Reporting & reflection: daily feedback, weekly updates & summary reporting

*Provide ongoing feedback & input for project implementation

Salary & Conditions:

*Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications & experience

**Work hours approximately 8am-4pm (Mon-Fri), teaching hours approximately 20 x 40minute periods per week (including between 3-6 co-planning periods)

Teacher/Trainer Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Native English speaker

2. University Degree

3. ESL/EFL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA/DELTA or recognized (general) Teaching certification

4. Min. of 2 years’ school teaching or ESL/EFL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA teaching or training experience (English teaching experience in China/Asia preferred)

5. A passion for contributing and making a difference through education

6. Attributes such as patience, teamwork & collaboration, strong communication & presentation skills and a positive attitude.
