1. Subject Teachers at the Shanghai World Foreign Language Middle School (WFLMS)

Established in August 1996, Shanghai World Foreign Language Middle School is located in the southwestern part of Xuhui District in Shanghai. The Xuhui District is generally seen as one of the most important education areas in Shanghai. The WFLMS is privately run and implements the I.B.O. (International Baccalaureate Organization) program.

Serving grades 6-12, the School's mission is to produce students who have a competitive edge academically and have the ability to contribute to society in meaningful way, both locally and internationally. In partnership with U-Learn, the WFLMS takes significant steps to prepare its students for college and university life, whether it be in China or abroad.

We require several teachers who will be able to work in the Middle Years Program (MYP), Diploma Program (DP), and Bilingual/Local sections of the WFLMS for the 2013-2014 school year beginning September 1, 2013. A breakdown of our current position openings is as follows:

MYP (Middle Years Program)

1. Mathematics teachers (2 positions)

2. ESL Reading/Writing teacher (1 position)

3. Biology teacher (1 position)

DP (Diploma Program)

1. English B (IB English & Literature) teachers (5 positions)

Bilingual/Local Section

1. ESL Reading/Writing teacher (1 position)

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications/characteristics:

1. A major in the subject they are teaching

2. 2 years teaching experience is preferred

3. Teaching credentials are preferred

4. TESOL/TEFL/CELTA Certification (or other equivalent cert.)

5. Likeable personality

2. IB-PYP Teachers at the Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School (WFLPS)

Located in the Xuhui district of central Shanghai and founded in 1993, the Shanghai WFLPS has three departments: Local, International, and IB: PYP (International Baccalaureate: Primary Years Program). The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) has recognized the PYP Department as part of the IB Program since 2007, making it the first Chinese school to achieve this recognition.

We require 2 teachers who will be able to work in the PYP Department for the 2013-2014 school year starting August 25, 2013.

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications/characteristics:

1. A degree in Education (or a teaching certification in their home country)

2. No TESOL/TEFL required if certified

3. Career teacher

4. At least 1-2 years teaching experience

5. Teaching experience (not necessary, but highly valued)

6. Native English-speaker

(Recent Education majors, who have done student teaching as part of their university course work, are also encouraged to apply).

3. ESL Teachers at the Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School (WFLPS) International Section

Established in 2000, the International Section is another department within the WFLPS. Its mission is to increase elementary students' English language proficiency using a Chinese and Western integrated curriculum.

We require 2 ESL teachers who will be able to work in the International Department for the 2013-2014 school year starting August 25, 2013.

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications/characteristics:

1. College graduate (no specific major required)

2. TESOL/TEFL/CELTA Certified (or other equivalent degree)

3. Native English-speaker

4. 1-2 years teaching experience is preferred

4. General Science Teacher at the Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School (WFLPS) Local Department

The third and final department within the WFLPS is the Local Department. The main focus is developing good student habits based on regular, seasonal, and grade ¡°modes,¡± which aids students' life-long development. Recognized as the Teachers' Training and Development Model School by the Ministry of Education, many teachers from the Local Department have received international and national awards in several competitions.

3. Native English-speaker

4. 1-2 years teaching experience is preferred

5. High School Subject Teachers at Suzhou US High School Program Center

Suzhou High School Affiliated with Xi'An Jiaotong University is a top public day and boarding high school in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province (20 minutes by train outside of Shanghai). Established in 2004, the school is already recognized for its internationally focused education programs, and received a Four Star Title by the Ministry of Education in 2011 - the highest designation awarded to a public school.

The school is unique for having a US Program Center that is devoted to helping Chinese students prepare for post-secondary education in the United States. The US Program Center currently hosts Dual-Diploma exchange programs with several US High Schools.

We currently require one Language Arts, one Visual Arts, and one History teacher for the 2013-2014 school year starting September 1, 2013.

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications/characteristics:

1. A major in the subject they are teaching

2. Native English speaker (American or Canadian is preferred)

3. 1-2 years experience is preferred

4. TESOL/TEFL/CELTA Certification (or other equivalent cert.)

5. Experience with ESLs is preferred

6. TOEFL/SAT Teacher for the Shanghai US Program Center

We are in need of a teacher with test-prep experience in TOEFL and SAT. Knowledge of American college placement process is highly valued. This individual will help Chinese students to improve their TOEFL and SAT scores. An ideal candidate has experience in helping ESL kids understand the logic and methodology of American standardized tests.
