Gwangju Seoseok English Center (GSEC) is located in Gwangju's Seoseok Elementary School. It is a non-profit English language school which is sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Gwangju, Dong-bu and Seo-bu Office of Education in South Korea.
GSEC currently provides situation-based and immersion learning to elementary students, from the 35 public schools located in the Dong-gu, Nam-gu and Buk-gu districts of Gwangju. Seoseok Elementary School recently remodeled 7 general classrooms to create GSEC. We have outstanding up-to-date facilities for promoting students' interest and enthusiasm for English. As a teacher, you'll have a pleasant balance of experience-based classes in the morning and text-based classes in the afternoon.
We are currently looking for teacher couple, married or unmarried, who can join our outstanding team.
Location : 82 Jebong RD., 26 Seoseok-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju (within Seoseok elementary school)
Job Description
1. Teaching 5th graders in our Morning English Experience Program through various activities (immersion and situational learning)
2. Teaching 1st ~ 6th graders in our After-school English Program (textbooks and workbooks provided.)
3. Teaching 4th graders in biyearly English camps
4. Teaching adults in an English conversation class once a week
5. Teaching elementary school teachers in our teachers' training program once a year
Qualifications
1. A completed Bachelor's Degree
2. Previous teaching experience or an education-related degree is preferred
3. Citizenship from the U.S., Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, or South Africa
4. An Active, friendly, outgoing, and cooperative personality
5. A positive attitude on Korea and Korea culture
Specifications
1. One Year Contract, renewable yearly.
2. Starting date: May 25th, 2012
3. Salary: 2.2 ~ 2.4 million won/month
4. Teaching hours: 22 hours per week (over-time payment, 20,000 won per hour)
5. Working hours: Mon. ~ Fri. 8:40 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.
6. Teaching level : Elementary school, Adult
7. Housing : Two room apartment provided
8. Benefits : Severance payment, medical insurance (50/50), all national holidays plus 14 days paid vacation, 15 days paid sick leave and round-trip airfare.
