The Job
We are now holding interviews for English teachers to join our team. If you are a dynamic teacher, have an interest in teaching smart, motivated students aged from 15 to 18 years old and can deliver learner centered, communicative lessons then we are interested in speaking with you.
Located in a scenic area between a mountain and a few lakes, the historic Long Quan High School was established in 1754 and is a first class high school in Hubei province. We have over 3000 students studying aged from 15 to 18 years old and 250 faculty members. Our aim is to encourage creativity, allow flexibility and prepare students for new challenges.
Teachers will focus on developing students’ English speaking skills primarily but will also work on reading, writing and grammar. Teachers have access to cutting edge resources, projectors in the classrooms and a wealth of teaching materials. Local Chinese teaching assistance will be on hand to help with classroom management and translation when needed.
Various student interactions are encouraged in class such as group work, pair work, role plays, project work as well as more traditional teaching methods to add variety to the classes and help create a creative and relaxed learning environment.
Jing Men – The City
Jing Men is located in the middle of Hubei province, in the center of China and as such benefits from a pleasant climate all year round. The city has a population of 3 million people and is based near Jingshan Mountain. The area is well known for its natural beauty and nearby lakes. Some of the scenic areas nearby include the Wudan Mountains and Ming Tombs in Zhongxiang, a World Heritage site only one hour away. This area is ideal for people who enjoy spending time in nature and exploring amazing Chinese scenery and immersing themselves in genuine Chinese culture and life.

Requirements
&bul l; Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• TEFL certificate required
• Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa
• Teaching experience preferred but not required
• Professional, culturally aware, positive work ethic
Main Responsibilities
• Maximum 20 - 25 hours teaching per week
• Use prescribed course books and develop supplementary materials as needed/directed
• Classes from Monday to Friday daytime with Saturday and Sunday as days off
• Provide high quality professional teaching at all times
• Provide advice and assistance to student, in and out of classroom
• Deliver learner-centered, engaging lessons to all students
• Complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner
• Actively participate in professional development workshops and activities
• Attend school activities, parties and other events
• Open-minded and easy-going with a great team spirit
Compensation
• Excellent salary: 8,000 – 9,000 RMB per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
• Flight tickets to and from China paid for by the school
• Free housing provided by the school and utilities paid for (housing not shared)
• Plus 12 days paid Chinese National Holidays
• Health insurance provided
• Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
• Staff trip in China
• Other benefits are negotiable
• Weekly Mandarin Chinese lessons provided free on request
