TPIS is a newly built International School which opened on the 22nd of August last year. Set in 30 rai of land, in open country with spectacular views, yet close to Jomptien beach. The school offers a superb teaching environment. Classrooms are bright and air-conditioned with computers and interactive whiteboards. We use the English National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage programme.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a new school and work as part of the team who will plan, shape and ultimately deliver an outstanding educational package to its students.
At present we have students in Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Reception and Years 1, 2, 3 and 4. All assessment and recording is done on-line using a proprietary programme tailored to Early Years and NC benchmarks. Parents can access their children’s records on-line.
The school is situated on the Eastern side of the Sukumvit road in a quiet area away but with the city within easy reach. Housing and local amenities are plentiful and reasonably priced. Single accommodation (for female teachers only) and meals are available on site. We have a no smoking policy within the school grounds.
We are seeking to recruit staff that have a long term view to staying in Thailand. Staff who are passionate about teaching and learning with good sense of humour, being creative and ambitious for themselves and the students in their care plus a willingness to develop as an educator are some of the essential additional qualities that we seek.
Positions available
Full-time Native Speaker of English (Homeroom). A Key Stage 1 year one practitioner, the successful applicant will be familiar with, and have experience in, the delivery, assessment and recording of student progress in the English National Curriculum or be willing to undertake on-job training.
The position attracts a minimum salary of 45,000 baht. Additional allowances are available for specific extra responsibilities.
Full-time Native Speaker of English (Homeroom) Working with the Reception Class (4-5 year olds)in the Nursery you will have a good knowledge of the delivery of Phonics. You will prepare the children for entry into Key Stage One, Year One of the English National Curriculum. You should have a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage in addition.
The position attracts a minimum salary of 45,000 baht.
Two Full-time Non-Native Speaker of English (Assistant Homeroom) Required for Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception classes (students aged two, three and four years). The ability to offer Music, Librarianship or be the School Nurse will be a definite advantage. Salary offered is 18,000 baht and free accommodation on site.
Responsibilities:
1. Teach a maximum of 25 lessons per week.
2. Develop curriculum and lesson plans according to the topics given by the school.
3. Assess students and provide grade reports to the school. Prepare quizzes, tests, and exam papers.
4. Participate in and give your support to school activities, i.e. In-service training, departmental meetings, parents’ meetings, occasion ceremonies, etc.
5. Be willing to contribute your effort and support to motivate students to develop their English skills as well as to be a team player.
6. Undertake extra-curricular lessons for students (ESOL, Maths, Special Needs etc) for which extra pay is earned.
7. Attend annual summer camp at the end of the academic year in July (if contract is renewed for a further year).
Qualifications:
• Native English speaker Teacher (UK, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand).
• Bachelor's degree or higher (preferably in Education or with PGCE).
• Non-Native English speaker (Filipino or similar with reasonable ability in spoken English)
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. TOEIC score of 600 or more.
Both Positions
• Thai Culture Certificate from Thai Government (desirable but not essential)
• TEFL/ TESOL certificate if no PGCE or teaching experience
• 1-2 years’ experience in teaching preferable
• Able to create the visual aid materials for teaching at all time.
• Applicants must be prepared for long term stay (minimum 1 year).
