IB-PYP Homeroom Teacher (Grades 1-5)
Location: World Foreign Language Primary School in Hangzhou, China
Start Date: Spring 2017
About the Role:
● Manage, create, and deliver lessons for primary school students based on a given IB curriculum (all materials provided)
● Maintain professional ethical standards in all areas confidentially and commit to school¡¯s core values, as expressed in its statement of philosophy
● Perform the duties of a full-time IB teacher as outlined by the IB Organization £¨Visit www.ibo.org for more information)
Principal Accountabilities:
● Thoroughly understand and effectively implement the IB curriculum (based on subject area) and assessment criteria as set out in the IB Subject Guide
● Regularly log onto the IB OCC (Online Curriculum Center) to access current and relevant teacher support materials and guidelines
● Work collaboratively with other subject group members to develop common unit plans and assessment strategies, share resources, etc.
● Attend and participate in regular subject group meetings
● Maintain student records; communicate these records with students and parents
● Maintain deadlines for submitting unit and lesson plans, as directed by the Subject Leader
● Actively participate in school events, assemblies, etc.
Requires (Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge):
● Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents
● Ability to communicate both orally and written while taking into account ESL community members
● Skilled in working with a range of students of different abilities and backgrounds
● Skilled in (or willing to learn) inquiry-based learning and differentiation
● A sound understanding of contemporary teaching and learning theories and practices in English as a Second Language teaching
Required / Recommended Background & Experience:
● Minimum Bachelors of Education (or elementary teaching certificate/license) or related degree
● Valid teaching certificate or license
● Minimum 2 years teaching experience at primary and/or elementary level
● Previous experience with ESL students
● Previous experience teaching the IB curriculum (preferred)
● Recent B.Ed graduates, who have completed 1-2 years of teaching experience as part of their degree, are also encouraged to apply

Drama Teacher
Location: World Foreign Language Primary School in Shanghai, China
Start Date: Spring 2017
About the Role:
● Manage, create, and deliver drama lessons for primary school students based on given and/or collaborative-based materials
● Perform the duties of a full-time drama instructor, including but not limited to maintaining office hours, group planning, curriculum management, and parent meetings
Principal Accountabilities:
● Plan, preparing, and delivering drama lessons to a range of classes, ages, and English language proficiencies
● Adapt course of study and training methods to meet student needs and ability.
● Discuss and demonstrate vocal and body expression to teach acting styles, character development, and personality projection.
● Produce and direct plays for school and public performances
● Assign nonperforming students to backstage production tasks, such as constructing, painting, moving scenery, operating stage light, and sound equipment.
● Teach elements of stagecraft, stage makeup, costume craft, play writing, or play direction
● Direct activities of students involved in constructing, painting, and lighting scenery.
● Adapt course of study and training methods to meet student needs and ability
● Organize and be involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competitions, school parties, assemblies, dinners and excursions
● Attend and contribute to training sessions
● Assist in basic administration, such as keeping student registers and attendance records
Requires (Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge):
● Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents
● Skill to work with a range of students of different abilities and backgrounds
Required / Recommended Background & Experience:
● Minimum Bachelor¡¯s degree in Arts (Drama)
● Teaching experience in arts
● Previous experience with ESL students (preferred)
● Valid TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate (preferred)
