About the Company:
U-Learn is a diversified education management company established in cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, specializing in three core areas: international education programs at Chinese institutions, international exchange and US dual-diploma programs, and US college admissions counseling services. Our goal is to provide a premier, comprehensive global education service package to our clients, ultimately bridging the gap between high school, college, and career.
To date, U-Learn has established dual-diploma programs at the Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy (WFLA) IB-MYP/DP department, Shixi High School IB-DP department, and Suzhou High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University. Over the past 10 years, U-Learn has recruited over 1,000 overseas teachers and sent more than 1,000 students abroad for high school and college studies. In the last 4 years, we have also provided internships to recent US college graduates.
For teachers, we provide ample opportunities to gain experience as a teacher of the IB (International Baccalaureate) – a prestigious and revolutionary knowledge-based curriculum developed by UNESCO that is becoming adopted at a steady pace by schools across the globe. We also provide individualized training programs and orientations for all of our incoming teachers, and our HR department works around-the-clock to resolve issues and help our teachers feel at home.

IB Subject Teacher
Shanghai Shixi High School
IB-DP (Diploma Program), Grades 10-12
• History teacher

About the Role:
• Manage, create, and deliver lessons for high school students based on a given IB curriculum (all materials provided)
• Perform the duties of a full-time IB teacher as outlined by the IB Organization

Principal Accountabilities:
• Thoroughly understand and effectively implement the IB curriculum (based on subject area) and assessment criteria as set out in the IB Subject Guide
• Regularly log onto the IB OCC (Online Curriculum Center) to access current and relevant teacher support materials and guidelines
• Work collaboratively with other subject group members to develop common unit plans and assessment strategies, share resources, etc.
• Attend and participate in regular subject group meetings
• Maintain student records; communicate these records with students and parents
• Maintain deadlines for submitting unit and lesson plans, as directed by the Subject Leader
• Actively participate in school events, assemblies, etc.
Requires (Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge):
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents
• Ability to communicate both orally and written while taking into account ESL community members
• Skilled in working with a range of students of different abilities and backgrounds
• Skilled in (or willing to learn) inquiry-based learning and differentiation
• A sound understanding of contemporary teaching and learning theories and practices in English as a Second Language teaching
Required / Recommended Background & Experience:
• Minimum Bachelors degree relevant to subject position (English major for English position, etc.)
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
• Previous experience teaching the IB curriculum (preferred)
• Previous experience with ESL students
• Valid teaching certification / license

About the Role:
• Manage, create, and deliver lessons for primary, middle, or high school students based on given and/or collaborative-based materials
• Perform the duties of a full-time ESL instructor, including but not limited to maintaining office hours, group planning, curriculum management, and parent meetings
Principal Accountabilities:
• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to a range of classes, ages, and English language proficiencies
• Preparing and setting tests, examination papers, and exercises
• Making and providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work
• Devising, writing, and producing new materials, including audio and visual resources, either individually or with teammates/co-teachers where appropriate
• Organizing and being involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competitions, school parties, assemblies, dinners and excursions
• Attending and contributing to training sessions
• Basic administration, such as keeping student registers and attendance records

US College Consultant
U-Learn Headquarters (Shanghai)
US College Consulting Department

About the Role:
• Serve as a knowledge expert and counselor for a given number of Chinese high school students who are interested in studying in the United States for undergraduate college & university studies
• Represent U-Learn through both in- and out-of-office activities and programs
• All training is provided on location
Principal Accountabilities:
• Provide guidance to high school students on proper strategies for the college application process
• Advise students on their college essay topics
• Guide students through the college essay writing process and provide insight on editing where necessary
• Contribute to student group workshops
• Contribute to weekly in-company meetings regarding strategies, student portfolios, and planning
• Assist in planning US college admissions officers’ visits to U-Learn school campuses, and accompany admissions officers when necessary
Requires (Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge):
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to communicate with students both during normal working and non-working hours
• Teaching, mentoring, and/or tutoring skills
• Firm understanding of the US college application process
• Satisfactory command of English language and grammar, both oral and written
• Prior experience with the SAT/ACT system and tests

U-Learn Assistant Business Manager
U-Learn Headquarters (Shanghai)

About the Role:
• Serve as operational assistant for daily U-Learn management activities, including but not limited to US Program scheduling & planning, IB School Program staffing & HR management, and US College Counseling management
• Report directly to Company Director, US Program Manager, HR Manager, and/or Partnership Development Manager
• Represent U-Learn through both in- and out-of-office activities and programs
• All training is provided on location
Principal Accountabilities:
• Collaborating with the US Program Manager / HR Manager for reviewing IB Program staffing requirements, screening & interviewing potential candidates, and selecting candidates for employment
• Meeting regularly with the Company Director and other managers for strategic program planning & strategies
• Assisting the US Program Manager with scheduling US-based events for overseas exchange program students
• Maintaining and updating database records & company documents pertaining to relevant projects
Requires (Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge):
• Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and participate in multiple mixed-nationality teams of various members and skill sets
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Aptitude for working in a diverse office atmosphere and communicating cross-culturally
• Satisfactory computer skills
