International Leadership Studies Faculty Position (1034 and 1053) in Zhengzhou, Henan, China
Position Available: Full-time, ten-month, temporary with possibility of renewal

Position Description:
Teaching Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching lower and upper division undergraduate leadership studies courses (15 credit hours per semester) to approximately 300 students per semester. Teaching load will include delivering courses within the Organizational Leadership degree program delivered at one of FHSU’s international partner institutions located in China.
Research Requirements:
This position is primarily a teaching position, however there will be limited research/scholarship responsibilities required for this faculty line.
Service Work:
There will be departmental and/or university service required for this position. Although this position is located in China, it is an integral part of the overall university community, and will have service requirements commensurate with that role.
Location:
Courses will be delivered to FHSU students on-site at one of FHSU’s partner institution campuses in China. This position will require relocation to the institution in China. All courses will be taught in English.
The partner school that FHSU works with to deliver this degree program is SIAS International University in Xinzheng (near Zhengzhou) in Henan province. This university offers a residential campus environment to over 20,000 Chinese students while partnering with FHSU to offer degree programs to select colleges within the university.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s degree in leadership or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates must meet minimum standards for academic qualification consistent with HLC accreditation.
Visa:
Successful candidates must be eligible to apply for and receive a Z visa, residence permit, and work permit in China. FHSU will assist in acquiring and paying for these documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) or ABD from an accredited institution in leadership or a closely related field is preferred.
Experience:
Individuals with teaching experience in the field of leadership studies are very strongly preferred. Experience in teaching/developing coursework for diverse, cross-cultural, or ESL/EFL students is desirable. Familiarity with Chinese culture and/or fluency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred but not required (all courses are taught in English).
Compensation:
Salary:
Salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and rank, and will range from $39,000-$41,000 per year. The salary range is contingent on funding and administrative approval.

This position will receive a full and generous benefit package, including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan, and other benefits consistent with full-time faculty appointments.
In-kind Benefits:
Faculty awarded this positon will be eligible for subsidized housing expenses, subsidized utilities, some meals, some travel costs during holidays, and other in-kind benefits worth approximately $7,500 per year. Specific benefits will depend on location of appointment, and are contingent on partner institution participation.
