Three Native English speaking teachers needed immediately in Yizhou, Guangxi Province, China.

Hechi University is located in Yizhou, a scenic city near Yangshuo, Guilin, China. The scenery is very beautiful, closely resembling that of Guilin! There are many minority groups here where you could enjoy the colorful cultural heritage as well as the fantastic landscape!

Job Details:

1. Salary: 5000 RMB per month.

2. Class Load: No more than 16 periods (45 minutes per period) per week.

3. Subject Matter to be Taught: Teach undergraduate students literature (English or American), culture (English or American), oral English, or business English in the School of Foreign Languages, or teach non-English majors college English in other schools.

4. Airfare Reimbursement: 5000 RMB airfare reimbursement at the completion of the one-year contract.

5. Additional Travel Allowance: 2200RMB travel allowance for one-year contract.

6. Free Accommodation—a double-room suite on campus with paid utilities.

7. Teachers Requested: teachers from USA, Canada, England, Australia or New Zealand.

8. Prerequisites: Two years of teaching-related experience, or more

9. Start Date: Start work on Sept 1st.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO HECHI UNIVERSITY

Hechi University (HCU) was founded as a full-time university by the approval of the Educational Ministry and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2003. Located in the Northwest part of Guangxi Province, the University is in the city of Yizhou. Yizhou is a relaxed, small town in China with a long history, rich cultural legacy, picturesque landscape and convenient transportation. HCU’s campus is surrounded by beautiful mountains and clear water with a fantastic environment.

HCU holds two campuses- east and west. The HCU campus size is 40 hectares. Computer networks can be found all over HCU. HCU now has over 650 teaching and administrative staff personnel, of whom 450 are teaching faculty. Among the teaching faculty, there are more than 170 associate professors, and over 260 teachers holding a master’s degree or doctor’s degree. HCU has formed a well-developed faculty team.

HCU, at present, has 13 schools （departments） and 41 majors, covering 9 disciplines. There are over 9500 full-time undergraduates and three-year-term students in HCU, 90 percent of whom are undergraduates. In December 2011, HCU successfully passed the Ministry of Education’s assessment of undergraduate teaching. Everything in the university has come into a new stage.

HCU insists on considering the demands of society and ever striving to improve quality education. As such, on-campus student societies are quite active. At present, there are more than 60 different societies and clubs for students. In the past 3 years, HCU students have earned 397 awards in various national and provincial competitions.
