Nanchang University is a national university situated in central China in Jiangxi province in the Provincial capital of Nanchang which is south of the Yangtze River. Jiangxi is famous as the home of porcelain (china). Nanchang university has it origins way back in 1921 with the beginning of the Jiangxi Public Medical School it furthered evolved in 1940 under the National Chung-cheng University and later on in it¡¯s development Nanchang University was amalgamation of Jiangxi University and Jiangxi Industrial University into Nanchang university in 1993, in 2005 the Jiangxi Medical college merged with Nanchang university and so in the 21st century Nanchang university is continuing the tradition of tertiary education which it began way back in 1921. In 1997 Nanchang University was listed as one of the Top Key 100 hundred national universities of the 2011 Project which is a joint co-operation development project between the People¡¯s government of Jiangxi province and the central ministry of Education of the Chinese central government.

Over the years, the central Government, the Ministry of Education, and the Jiangxi Provincial government have paid great attention to its expansion and further development. Several national leaders such as the former President of China Jiang Zemin and Xi Jingping Fist secretary and 8th vice President of China believe that Nanchang University will have ¡®a promising future¡¯ and State councilor Liu Yandong expects Nanchang University to be a world-class university with Chinese characteristics.

Henan Polytechnic University (HPU), with a history of nearly 100 years, is the first mining university in Chinese history. Its former is Jiaozuo Coal Mining School which was established by the British Syndicate Co. Ltd., in 1909. It has changed its names several times in the course of development, namely, FuZhong Coal Mining University, Jiaozuo Private Institute of Technology, North-west Institute of Technology, Jiaozuo National Institute of Technology, Jiaozuo Mining Institute and Jiaozuo Institute of Technology. The University resumed its name of Henan Polytechnic University in 2004. During a century¡¯s period, HPU has formed its idea of running school ¡°Educate People and Advocate Academic¡± and founded the spirit of ¡°Learn Eagerly and Act Diligently¡±. The university has carried on its excellent traditional thoughts of ¡°Work Hard and Achieve Pragmatic Results, Love China and Love HPU¡±. The deep cultural accumulation through 100 years and rich education experience laid a solid foundation for its rapid development. The HPU has 2100 teaching staff and workers with 506 professors and associate- professors. 494 of the 1339 teachers have obtained their master degree and doctor degree. There are 6 academicians, 1 Yangzi River scholar, 8 specially-engaged professors 38 government special prize winners and other 80 well-known experts, excellent teachers and model workers. The university has 18 schools and departments and possesses 12 disciplines for awarding doctoral degree and 48 for master¡¯s degree, and 8 courses for engineering master degree. It has 57 undergraduate programs with a total number of 26,972 full-time postgraduates, graduates, undergraduates and 7,000 adult students. It takes on 53 programs including No. 973 program, nation-level natural scientific funds program and scientific key program, 1200 provincial-level and other technical-service programs, etc. It first creates Gas Geology in the world and has made great achievements in Exploration and Utilization of Gas Resources and Prevention of Gas Disasters. It establishes the model of Chinese Land Trace Fossil Group and their Deposit Environment, laying a foundation in vestige research in the world. It completes the test system for the highest linear motor drive rope-less elevator. 1. Teaching duration: This contract will be effective for one academic year, taking effect on Feb 20th, 2016 and expiring automatically on Jan 31st, 2017.

2. Courses: Foreign Teachers (Party B) will teach courses in English speaking, writing, reading, and literature. The staff of Henan Polytechnic University¡¯s (Party A¡¯s) Foreign Languages Department will work with the Foreign Teachers (Party B) as co-workers as regards the curriculum and all other issues related to teaching.

3. Workload: Foreign Teachers (Party B) will teach a maximum of 18 class hours per week. Each class hour lasts for 50 minutes.

4. Salary: The Foreign Teacher¡¯s (Party B¡¯s) monthly salary will be 6000 Yuan RMB per month. Altogether HPU (Party A) will pay 10 months of salary during the contract period. HPU (Party A) will pay salary one time per month.

5. Air tickets and travel allowance: Henan Polytechnic University (Party A) will provide the Foreign Teacher (Party B) with a round-trip international air ticket or pay him/her in RMB cash, the equivalent of one single or round-way ticket if he/she bought it before coming to China, will also reimburse the Foreign Teacher (Party B) for the train fare spent on coming to and leaving the University. A representative of HPU (Party A) will pick the Foreign Teacher (Party B) up at Zhengzhou airport when he/she arrives. HPU (Party A) will provide the Foreign Teachers (Party B) with 2,200 Yuan RMB as an annual traveling allowance. The traveling allowance will be paid at the end of the contract period.

6. Living conditions: As a benefit in kind, HPU (Party A) will provide each Foreign Teacher (Party B) with an apartment on campus. The apartment will contain furniture, a TV set, a telephone, a computer, a washing machine, 24 hours hot water for showering, air-conditioning, a kitchen, a micro-wave oven, a refrigerator, a drinking water dispenser, free electricity, free heat, free gas, free water, and free internet. However, the Foreign Teacher (Party B) will pay the cost of phone calls.

7. Medicare: HPU (Party A) will provide the Foreign Teacher (Party B) with free medical care at the University¡¯s clinic. If the Foreign Teacher (Party B) needs to see a doctor at a hospital within the city that is approved by the University¡¯s clinic, and he has got the transfer permission from the University¡¯s clinic, then HPU (Party A) will reimburse the Foreign Teacher (Party B) 50% of the costs.

8. Holidays: Foreign Teachers (Party B) may enjoy the same holidays as the Chinese teachers do. Foreign Teachers (Party B) may take one day off to celebrate their important holidays, but have to make up the missed classes before or after the holiday.

9. Location: The university is located in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. Our city includes six counties and five districts with an area of 4017 square km. and the population of 3.3 million. It is the birthplace of Taiji and the International Taiji Conference is held in our city biennially. We have held it twice since the year of 2000. More than 1300 foreigners took part in this conference and competition. Yuntai Mountain is the National-level Scenic Area and was authorized as the First World Geo-Park by UNESCO. More and more tourists from home and abroad are coming here to visit our city. There are lots of nice restaurants around our university with delicious Chinese food. Beautiful natural scenic spots and cultural places in the city will refresh you; students¡¯ desire for knowledge will make you forget all the tiredness.

10. Traffic: There is a new highway from our city to Zhengzhou, the capital of our province. It takes about one and a half hour to Zhengzhou Airport from our city by car. There are many direct flights to big cities there. And also you can take trains to travel around China from our city.

11. Weather: Situated in the middle of China, the city has clear difference between seasons, warm in spring and autumn, hot in summer and cold in winter. The highest temperature in summer from June to August is 36-centigrade degree and the lowest temperature in winter from December to Feb. is -8 centigrade degree. You may enjoy breeze in autumn and spring, rain in summer and snow in winter.
