Position Description

Language Specialist

Reporting to: Director, AIT Language Center

Minimum qualifications and experience:

• a master’s degree related to or with a certificate in language teaching

• three years of tertiary-level language teaching experience, preferably with

students of science and technology

Duties and responsibilities:

Academic and Communication Skills Instruction

•develop and deliver academic/technical writing curricula at three levels

of proficiency (from IELTS 4.5 to 6.0)

•conduct the AIT Bridging Program, an intensive English language

program in communication and academic skills

•prepare and deliver courses on research writing

•diagnose individual needs and provide remedial tutoring

Additional Responsibilities

•scoring of essay tests based on the IELTS band scales

•advising students about AIT theses and dissertations

•report regularly on all activities to Director of the Language Center,

including class attendance, progress of students, and materials developed.

•promote good language practices among students, staff and faculty

Salary Range 50-60,000 baht per month; 5% contribution to Provident Fund;

and, health insurance.
