Lead Teachers Required for an International Kindergarten
Sky Avenues International Kindergarten (http://www.skyavenues.org) is the first western international kindergarten approved by Fujian Province Education Department. Working with James Cook University, Sky Avenues has established a proud tradition of advocating for children and providing a range of high quality services that reflect contemporary Australian national and international early childhood research. Sky Avenues International Kindergarten adheres to the Queensland Studies Authority approved early childhood curriculum. We are looking for energetic, passionate kindergarten teachers who enjoy working in a unique environment as part of a multicultural team.
The school is based on the Australian national early childhood framework "My Time, Our Place", with emphasis on learning through play, experiencing and exploring. All classes are conducted in English with children from a range of nationalities and backgrounds.
Teachers are encouraged to be creative and play an active part in the ongoing development of the curriculum. There is also the chance for progression / managerial positions in the future for those teachers who excel in the classroom. Professional development is supplied to all teachers both from internal and external trainers.
As part of the employment package, flights, living accommodation and visas are provided by the school.
Xiamen is an island city with hot summers and mild winters. The school is situated on the east coast of the island, only ten minutes walk from the beach.
Job Requirements:
Applicants must hold a university teaching qualification in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education. Your degree should be preferably in education, but will consider other majors based on the teachers personality, drive and teaching skills.
Experience working as a teacher in a classroom with young children
A passion for early childhood education and working with young learners
Ability to work as part of a multicultural team and enjoy experiencing new cultures
Hold a western passport and have English as your first/native language
Be available to start immediately in a position to commit to a two year contract.
Previous experience in an international KG school with an IB or ESL background is an advantage.
