Interested in a career in teaching? Want to travel AND get paid? Why not teach in China?

You will be working at one of our partner schools delivering English lessons where the emphasis will be on developing the students’ oral skills and expanding their vocabulary. Those who are working with young children and students whose English is very basic will be accompanied by a Chinese co-teacher. The school will provide all resources required to teach, but you are encouraged to use them creatively as possible to produce a fun and engaging lesson. 

Salary

You will be paid between 6,000 – 10,000 RMB per month. You will also receive free accommodation and gave the cost of your flights reimbursed.

Person requirements 

We’re looking for open-minded, creative, energetic, motivated graduates. Although this is a teaching position, we’re happy to talk to applicants with other career paths in mind. Indeed, most of teachers go on to have successful careers away from the teaching profession.

Person specification

• Educated to degree level: It doesn’t matter what subject your degree is in or what grade you’re expected to achieve. Final years students can apply.
• TEFL: It is required that you complete a TEFL course before you begin teaching in China. If you do not possess a TEFL, we offer full training
• Experience of delivering presentations:As you will be leading and delivering lessons, it is important that you are comfortable talking in front of large groups.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills: You will be expected to plan your lessons in advance to ensure that your students cover all of the required material. We will provide you with lots of advice on how to plan lessons during your induction.
• Flexible: Last minute changes to timetable are not uncommon. Therefore, it is vital that you can be flexible.

Why China Teach? 

We understand that moving to China is a daunting experience, that is why we are on hand to offer help throughout the entire process. We offer a full online TEFL training delivered by our partners, INTESOL Worldwide (Cost £250). 

In addition to securing you a placement you will receive:

• An induction day before departure where you’ll be taught some basic mandarin, receive a presentation on lesson planning by a qualified teacher, be given a personalised ‘survival pack’ and get to meet fellow teachers. The day will take place in the North West of England.

• Help with visa application
• Arranged airport pick-up
• Access to China Teach lesson planning resources

We also offer free placements to those who already possess a TEFL qualification or equivalent. However, the additional services outlined above will not be offered.
