The Job

Our school is now recruiting energetic, passionate and qualified English teachers to teach students aged 3 to 14 years old in Nanjing, China. Established in 2006, we currently have 8 campuses in Nanjing City and we’re continually expanding to provide quality education to English learners all over China.

We integrate the American learning system to our curriculum with strong emphasis on “active-learning”. Our course materials are “Fingerprints”, “Bounced” and books from McMillan Publishing. We also allow the students to engage in various class activities such as art work, singing, dancing and educational games. A local bilingual teacher is available to assist the foreign teacher with their classroom needs and to serve as liaison between the foreign teachers and the parents. With a small class size of 10 students, the foreign teacher and the students have more opportunity to interact and provide each learner an appropriate amount of attention.

In order for students to learn and enjoy English effectively, we use the 3E teaching philosophy. Easy, Enjoyable and Effective - this unique learning system develops multiple intelligences and provides young learners a pleasant experience by using multimedia technology. This allows students not only to learn inside the school but also at home or anywhere with a computer. We also have the “Voice LAB Laboratory” and “English Life Salon” weekly classes to let the children practice English out of the standard classroom setting and learn in a more relaxed and casual environment.

Nanjing – The City

Located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, is one of the most delightful destinations in China. Known as the capital city of six dynasties in ancient Chinese history, it has a brilliant cultural heritage.

Like most major cities in China, Nanjing is developing rapidly. Great changes have taken place in the city. Modern highways and railways connect the city with most major cities throughout the country and it is becoming a sparkling metropolis akin to Shanghai and Beijing with skyscrapers, luxury hotels, fashion shopping malls, supermarkets and highly-developed economic zones throughout the city. Transport in the city is very convenient with the new metro service in addition to taxis, public buses, tourist special lines and other means of transport. Dazzling shopping malls and department stores can be found in the commercial areas of the city with stocked plenty of international brand names.

Main Responsibilities

-Maximum of 25 teaching hours per week

-15 hours admin work per week

-Plan lessons, check and grade students’ homework and exams

-Assist in school’s marketing campaign to get new students

-Attend staff meeting and teacher training

-Teach students fluency in oral and written English

-Introduce students to western cultures and festivals

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 7,900 to 9,000 RMB per month (depending on qualifications and teaching ability)

-Free shared housing accommodation (2 bedroom, fully furnished with shared common area)

-Round trip flight reimbursement provided after completion of contract

-Airport pick up provided

-11 days national holidays plus 3 paid personal holidays

Requirements

-Bac helor’s degree

-TEFL certificate preferred but not required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL http://www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)

-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Ireland

-Teaching experience preferred

-Fluency in oral and written English
