University Background

Founded in 1940 as part of the provisional capital of China, CQUT has over seven decades of experience in higher education. During this time, CQUT has emerged as a regional leader in scientific research, training facilities, academic rigor, and attracting high-quality faculty and students.

Basic Qualifications Required
- Native English Speaker
- Bachelor Degree or above with either a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA Certificate or 2-year Teaching Experience.
- Teaching Experience Preferred
- TEFL/TESOL/CELTA Certificate Preferred
No older than 60 years of age

A Brief Job Description

Foreign Teachers at CQUT work 250 Teaching Hours (45 minutes) per semester in the form of:
- In-classroom Courses (class size is usually within 40),
- English Conversation (Office Hour), chatting with students with topic(s) decided by both the teacher and the students (class size is about 10,)
- English Corner,
- Lecture (once every semester if required), and
- English Activity.

Note: One Teaching Hour is 45-minute in-classroom teaching;
One English Corner is considered as 3 teaching hours;
One Lecture is considered as 5 teaching hours;
One English Activity is considered as 2 teaching hours.

1. Monthly Salary: 5500RMB, 6000RMB and 6500RMB respectively for a Bachelor¡¯s degree, a Master¡¯s degree, and a Doctor¡¯s degree;
2. 500 RMB can be added to those with more than 2 years¡¯ teaching experience in the same field.
3. 10% raise for one whose contract is extended for the first time, first time only.
