One Full-time Position Available to Teach Oral Communication

We have one full-time position available to teach Oral Communication to motived bright high school students.

You must have a university degree and preferably a CELTA or TESOL. Government regulations require that you have two years teaching experience and be less than 62 years old.

The High School Attached to Northwest Normal University is in the city of Lanzhou in the province of Gansu. Our school was established in 1901 and we pride ourselves on being the best high school in the province and one of the top schools in the country. Our graduates go on to the top universities in China and around the world.

You will help students develop their communications skills in English. Your particular focus will be on improving the students' Listening and Speaking abilities in Oral Communication Class. From September there may be a chance to teach TOEFL speaking or SAT subjects as well.

You will teach approximately sixteen 40-minutes periods per week. Some classes repeat so there is less prep work. The February position pays a base salary of 4,500-5,000RMB per month, with up to double that if you teach other classes in the fall. Benefits include a free furnished private apartment, free meals on campus, holiday travel allowance and a return flight from your country of origin to Lanzhou. (Airfare is paid after contract completion.) We offer a one-year contract and provide the all the paperwork for the correct visa.

Teaching begins on February 22nd and we would like you to arrive one week before that.
