Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree in English, liberal arts or language teaching related subjects. Teaching experience or holding a certificate such as the ESL, EFL, TESOL would pertain an advantage, as would Chinese abilities. Non-native speakers should speak English at a near-native level with no or minimal accent.
Job description:
The appointee will be offered a 10 month contract (September 2012 – June 2013) which can be prolonged by mutual agreement. The appointee will be teaching 12 periods of oral English (45 minutes) per week to freshmen majoring in English, two days with six sessions each (most likely Thursday and Friday).
Benefits:
The salary is 5000 RMB for those with a bachelor's degree, with significantly higher pay for those with a master's degree or doctorate.
The appointee will be provided free of charge with a furnished apartment located in central Guangzhou with a TV-set, a washing machine, a refrigerator, air conditioner, telephone, computer, etc. If the appointee does not wish to live on campus, a housing allowance of 1500RMB will be available. The appointee will be given leave on all Chinese Public holidays. It is possible to take a week of vacation for Christmas if you make up for the classes the week prior.
