We have vacancies for qualified and motivated native English speaking PYP teachers
Golden Apple IPAK is a preschool and kindergarten in Chengdu, Sichuan. We are currently a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate PYP program and have passed our pre-authorization
We are expanding the experienced teacher base at our school and are looking for teachers with "qualified teacher status" and experience in the PYP program. If you are a qualified PYP teacher and are willing to help our school become the first PYP World School in Western China we would appreciate your joining us. Couples welcome!
Position: Full time kindergarten teacher (basic) - Starting in September
Details:
Salary: RMB 16,000 - 22,000 before tax (15,705 - 18,705 after tax)
Insurance: Basic medical insurance provided
Holidays: 8 weeks in total per year
Qualifications
B.Ed (Early years or Primary) or above
PGCE (Early years or Foundation)
M.Ed or MA.Ed (early years or special education)
At least 2 years experience in inquiry teaching with under six year olds
Position: Junior PYP teacher (March and September)
Details:
Salary: RMB 22,000 - 28,000 before tax (18,705 - 23,205 after tax)
Insurance: Basic medical insurance provided
Holidays: 8 weeks in total per year
Qualifications
PGCE (Early years or Foundation) or equivalent
M.Ed or MA.Ed (early years or special education)
1-3 yrs teaching early years or grade 1 in the PYP
Preferred experience in a bilingual setting
Position: Senior PYP teacher (March and September)
Details:
Salary: Fully Negotiable (above 28,000)
Insurance: Basic medical insurance provided
Holidays: 8 weeks in total per year

Our curriculum is simultaneous bilingual (English and Mandarin), the classrooms and learning activities are shared by one Chinese speaking, one English speaking and one overseas teacher. We provide a rich language environment for children to develop bilingual abilities through inquiry.
Starting Date : March 2012 and September 2012,
Period of service:
Full time kindergarten teachers: minimum 12 month contract
PYP teachers: minimum 2 year contract
Duties:
All aspects of planning, teaching and assessing in a bilingual classroom; including:
1) Implementing concept driven units of inquiry
2) Preparing unit and weekly lesson/environment plans
3) Communicating with parents
4) Completing portfolios on children's development
5) Working collaboratively with co-teachers and with other classes on the same level
6) Creating an engaged, safe and friendly classroom environment
7) Coordinating and organizing school events
8) Collaboratively developing school curriculum, including POIs, UOIs and scope and sequences
9) Sharing and engaging with other teachers.
Other benefits:
*1 month bonus at end of each year to cover flight expenses, moving fees and other sundry expenses incurred
*Individual housing provided
