We are looking for professional and motivated teachers dedicated to making learning fun and effective.

Established in 2001 Shane currently operates in over 24 cities across China, including Yangzhou where we are now holding interviews. We are well known as a market leading language school and currently employ 9 foreign teachers and 7 teaching assistants. We make every effort to maintain the highest standards in education by providing excellent course materials, technology and an engaging learning environment.

Students

The majority of our students are young learners aged from 3 to 16 years old and teachers enjoy teaching to a variety of ages throughout the week. Teacher training and support is seen as key at Shane and we provide a one week training program at the start of your contract as well as on-going training and support in the form of workshops, seminars, class observations from your Academic Manager.

Yangzhou – The city
Yangzhou has a history of almost 2,500 years and is located by the Yangtze River not far from Shanghai, in Jiangsu province. It has been a leading economic and cultural center and a major port for foreign trade since the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907).

Yangzhou is rich in scenic spots, and there are many Suzhou-style gardens worth seeing, with Geyuan the most famous one. There are also several other gardens, one temple and one museum. Nightlife in Yangzhou is very colorful. Yangzhou snack streets, cinemas, theatres, bars and cafés are where you may go to enjoy the nightlife in Yangzhou if you are in the mood. Today, more and more locals head to bars and cafes after work to wind down after a long day. Students also head to the snack streets to spend a weekend night.

Yangzhou plays a very important role in China and the world. In 1982, it was listed as the first State Historic cities and in 2004 Yangzhou was recognised as one of the State Human Living Environment Cities.

Job Duties

· 20 hours teaching per week

· Lesson planning

· Take part in school parties and events

Compensation

· Excellent salary: 8,000 RMB per month

· 80 teaching hours per month

· Housing allowance: 800 RMB per month

· Flight allowance: up to 5,000 RMB

· End of contract bonus 3,000 RMB

· Legal ‘Z’ work visa

· 12 days paid public holidays plus 10 days extra paid holidays

· Insurance allowance: 1,300 RMB

· On-going training and academic support

· Airport pickup

· Promotion opportunities to Senior Teacher and Academic Manager within the Shane network

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree

· TEFL certificate

· Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa

· Experience teaching young learners preferred

· Plenty of passion and energy
