Primary Teachers for 13 EFL Posts

We have been asked by our clients, a group of leading Beijing primary schools to look for native English speaking teachers of English to teach children from 6-12 years in their international department from late August, 2012.

Class sizes are around 25. Children in early years are often taught by a class teacher but English is taught by specialist teachers. Children in higher classes (years 3-6) are taught by subject/specialist teachers for all subjects.

Qualifications and Experience

A BEddegree or degree plus teaching qualification is the minimum requirement. Applicants with CELTA/CELTYL or equivalent are particularly welcome to apply. These posts would be suitable for teachers with a few years’ experience.

Job description

Teachers are expected to:

n be present at school throughout the school day

n take part in in-service development activities on a regular basis

Teachers will have:

n around 15 contact hours per week

n responsibility for developing and running an extra-curricular activity (various sports, drama, music, art, newspaper, public speaking, etc.) per week

One year contract with salary up to 12,000 RMBper month, depending on qualifications and experience, plus generous package, including:

n accommodation in a shared apartment/accommodation allowance

n 1 return airfare per year,

n subsidized meals during school day

n help with visa and work permit applications

n minimum 6 weeks’ holiday plus Chinese public holidays
