Private Institutes in Seoul (July/Aug) + Public schools for fall: Busan, Jeollanamdo (rural island spots)
Greetings Teachers,
Canadian Connection (http://www.canconx.com) is an educational consulting agency based out of Toronto which recruits teachers for ESL positions in public schools, private institutes, and companies. We are currently looking for teachers for our private institutes in Seoul and Daegu for July, August, and November. We are also interviewing for some 2012 fall semester public school. Our public school positions are directly with the schools and school boards so you will know your location before departure.
NOTE for couple applicants: If you are applying as a couple, please be aware that we have filled our placements that have shared apartments and for all of our positions listed below you would have separate housing although we would be able to place you in the same town or city.

Summer & Fall Private Institute Positions
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Classroom Hours: 30 teaching hours per week.
Vacation: 10 days + national holidays
Salary: 2,000,000 – 2,300,000 Korean won per month
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
School Type: kindergarten and elementary students
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: One way ticket airfare is reimbursed after arrival and one way ticket home is given before the end of the contract
Start dates:
July - 1 position
August - 8 positions
November - 1 position
Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew
Locations: Various areas of Seoul
Single placements only, no couples
Hiring Preferences: Our schools prefer applicants with teaching experience and preferably TESL, Education, or ECE backgrounds. And of course enthusiasm for working with young kids. Prefer female applicants but males with ESL experience with children may be considered
FALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS
1)Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Public Schools)
Busan is a metropolitan city of 4,000,000 people, situated on the southeast coast.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Classroom Hours: 22 teaching hours per week, overtime a possibility
School Levels: Elementary Schools (up to grade 6 but typically only working with grade 3-6), Middle Schools (grade 7-9) and High School (grades 10-12). The majority of positions are in Elementary and Middle School
Vacation: 18 working days + national holidays
Salary: 1,800,000 – 2,300,000 Korean won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: Entrance allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won provided after 6 months is completed and 1,300,000 Exit Allowance given before departure
Start dates: August 26th with a one week orientation in Busan
Preferences: Candidates with CELTA, Teaching licenses, or having significant ESL experience preferred. Minimum GPA of 2.7 or 67.5%
2) Jeollanamdo Provincial Office of Education (Public Schools)
We have 2 positions on rural islands off the west coast of the province so we need teachers up for this kind of rural experience as you will be the only foreign teacher on the island.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:00
Classroom Hours: 22 teaching hours per week, overtime a possibility
School Levels: Elementary Schools (up to grade 6 but typically only working with grade 3-6), Middle Schools (grade 7-9) and High School (grades 10-12). The majority of positions are in Elementary and Middle School
Vacation: 4 weeks + national holidays
Salary: 2,200,000 – 2,700,000 Korean won per month
Settlement Allowance: 300,000 Won
Severance Bonus: 1 month salary
School Type: Elementary, Junior High, and High School
Housing: non-shared housing supplied, schools pay rent, teachers cover util.
Airfare: Entrance allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won when you arrive in Korea to cover your airfare and an Exit Allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won to cover your airfare before you leave Korea at the end of your contract.
Start dates: August 14th with a one week orientation in Gwangju
Contract Length: 1 year with option to renew at a higher salary
