Seeking a Mathematics and Science Teacher
Assumption College English Program school (ACEP) is seeking a Mathematics and Science teacher (one position) to teach Year 7 and Year 10 students. Applicants must be available to commence employment in the very near future.
Assumption College English Program school (ACEP) had a very successful opening in April, 2012. The new school’s very modern and spacious campus is located approximately 30 km from Silom (near Rama II Road). Teachers are provided with transport to and from the campus each day.
In its initial year, ACEP educates approximately 260 students who learn in Year 1, Year 4, Year 7 and Year 10 classes only. The small student population ensures that the school maintains a very friendly atmosphere.
Details about the Mathematics-Science position which we have available at this time are below:
1) MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching Mathematics to Year 7 students for four periods/week.
- Teaching Mathematics to Year 10 students for five periods/week.
- Teaching Science (Chemistry) to Year 10 students for three periods/ week.
2) QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified to teach in western countries (B. Ed or similar) and who have recent teaching experience.
- For the current position we may consider applicants with Mathematics or Science qualifications and several years of teaching experience.
3) ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- As foreign teachers play a key role in the day to day operations of ACEP school, all staff must be truly dedicated to the profession and willing to perform rostered playground duties and become involved in other activities to assist the development of students.
- Our teachers must enjoy working with both students and colleagues, be organised and capable of completing assigned tasks to a high standard.
4) PREFERED NATIONALITIES:
Our school generally employs teachers from England, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa. Teachers from other countries are considered from time to time.
5) CONTRACT PERIOD:
The initial contract will be for a period of approximately 8 months (concluding in March, 2013). If both parties agree, an additional twelve month contract will be offered.
6) RENUMERATION:
- Very competitive Salary
- Living Allowance
- Daily Transport to and from the campus (from Surasak BTS area)
- Health Insurance
- Six Weeks Paid Leave (approximately for the initial contract period)
- Contract Completion Bonus
