The Job

Lucky International English Center is looking for dedicated English teachers to join our teaching team at our modern centers in Tianjin, Dalian, Tangshan and Taiyuan. You will be delivering dynamic and engaging lessons to motivated adult students using our pre-written teaching material. If you are looking for a chance to teach communicative English to adult students in one of China’s most exciting cultural cities where every day at work will bring exciting challenges, then this is just the job for you.

Lucky International English Center is a part of the LearnOn Education Group, founded in 2001. We currently have 8 language schools at locations around China with ambitious plans to open more in the coming years.

Lucky International offers English language learning aimed at creating an immersive environment for students. Classes focus on developing student speaking and listening skills through a variety of communicative activities. Core class sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure effective learning for all.

Our teaching staff is made up of professionals from a variety of backgrounds which allows for out-of-the-box thinking and an exciting work atmosphere. We seek to develop an environment of constant improvement by maintaining a dynamic program of professional development for all employees. All teachers go through a 2 week paid training program on arrival as well as on-going teacher support and training throughout your time with Lucky International.

Tianjin – The City

Tianjin is located 85 miles east of Beijing, near the coast. The capital can be reached in half an hour by fast train. As China’s third largest city with a population of over 10 million people, Tianjin has a rich history and has witnessed many important events since it was given its name in 1404. Evidence of its history is still visible in the old British and Italian concessions, the port and European architectures.

The best known scenic spots and historical sites include the Panshan Scenery Area, the Park on the Water, the Garden of Tranquility, the Palace of Heavenly Empress and even a section of the Great Wall of China at the Huangya Pass.

Dalian – The City

Situated in the North-East province of Liaoning, the gorgeous coastal city of Dalian has a long history of being used by foreign powers as a port. The city is well-known for its squares, fountains, gardens and beaches thanks to the former major, Bo Xilai, who initiated a ‘Green Storm’, a widespread environmental development campaign.

Dalian also has a reputation for its football, hosting many national competitions and having the most successful team in China. Another big event is the annual Dalian International Fashion Festival attracting thousands of designers, celebrities, pop stars and clothing merchants.

Tangshan – The City

Tangshan is known to the Chinese as being the treasured land just east of Beijing. Situated at the bottom of Yanshan Mountain's southern slope, the north of the city occupies mountainous areas, the central plain and the coastline of 200km to the south. Tangshan has a rich history, according to archaeological discoveries, it was validated that this area was inhabited as far back as 45,000 years ago. It is home to a section of the Great Wall, underwater, as well as being a short distance from the ancient Qing Tombs.

Tangshan has developed into a relatively modern city with plenty to do in terms of entertainment, eating out, sports and day trips out of the city. We enjoy a warm-temperate monsoon climate, the city is dry in spring, hot in summer, and chilly in winter.

Taiyuan – The City

Situated on the northern banks of the Yellow River, Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi Province. The city has a long history that dates back more than 2500 years and it originally served as an important military position in north-central China. Taiyuan gives teachers a chance to experience an authentic China that they can’t get in big cities like Shanghai or Beijing. That being said, the school itself is located near the center of the city, within easy walking distance of many foreign comforts, including bars, gyms, shops and apartments.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree

· TEFL certificate preferred

· Previous teaching experience

· Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand

· Outgoing, social personality

Main Responsibilities

· A maximum of 25 teaching hours per week and 15 office hours

· Teach a variety of English classes to adult students

· Ensure students progress and receive the support and encouragement needed

· Take part in social activities

Compensation

· Excellent salary: 11,000 – 14,000 RMB / month depending on experience
