The Job

This language school is looking for dedicated English teachers to join our teaching team at our new center in Taiyuan. You will be delivering dynamic and engaging lessons to motivated adult students using our pre-written teaching material. Our school is part of a major education group, founded in 2001. We currently have 8 language schools at locations around China with ambitious plans to open more in the coming years.

We offer English language learning aimed at creating an immersive environment for students. Classes focus on developing student speaking and listening skills through a variety of communicative activities. Core class sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure effective learning for all.

Our teaching staff is made up of professionals from a variety of backgrounds which allows for out-of-the-box thinking and an exciting work atmosphere. We seek to develop an environment of constant improvement by maintaining a dynamic program of professional development for all employees. All teachers go through a 2 week paid training program on arrival as well as on-going teacher support and training throughout your time with us.

Taiyuan – The city

Situated on the northern banks of the Yellow River, Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi Province. The city has a long history that dates back more than 2500 years and it originally served as an important military position in north-central China. Taiyuan gives teachers a chance to experience an authentic China that they can’t get in big cities like Shanghai or Beijing. That being said, the school itself is located near the center of the city, within easy walking distance of many foreign comforts, including bars, gyms, shops and apartments.

Requirement s

· Bachelor’s degree

· TEFL certificate preferred

· Minimum 1 year of teaching experience

· Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa or New Zealand

· Outgoing, social personality

Main Responsibilities

· A maximum of 25 teaching hours per week and 15 office hours

· Teach a variety of English classes to adult students

· Ensure students progress and receive the support and encouragement needed

· Take part in social activities

Compensation

· Excellent salary: 12,000 RMB / month (negotiable depending on experience)

· Flight allowance: 6,000 RMB paid on completion of the 12 month contract
