Primary and Secondary School Positions at Wuxi Korean School, China

We are looking to fill two openings for English teachers – one in our primary and one in our secondary school program. We are only considering teachers from the six major English speaking countries (U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa) who have a 4-year college degree and two years of teaching experience. Our ideal candidate is also a certified teacher in their home country. Join a professional team of 6 Western and 7 Korean English teachers at our school to teach ESL to primary school (2nd-6th grade) or secondary school (7th-11th grade). Our school serves Korean students, from Kindergarten to 12th grade, from Wuxi and Suzhou, who are looking to maintain their high level of academic excellence in English while living away from Korea. Your classes will typically contain 10 – 20 students of similar level, as our classes are split into 2 or 3 groups by level.

We follow the official school year of public schools in Korea. Therefore, the school year runs from the beginning of March to the middle of January with a summer and winter break. We will be conducting interviews in May, so if you are interested please apply ASAP. You should expect to be in China by the third week of August.

While Wuxi is an ancient Chinese city, it has the livability that can only be found in a smaller Chinese metropolis of 7 to 8 million people. Located an hour west of Shanghai and nestled alongside Lake Taihu, you will enjoy all the conveniences of modern living in its New District, combined with the old world charm of its ancient temple area. Job Description:
1. One year contract starting August 22nd, 2016.
2. Teach spoken and written English full-time, 20-22 classes per week (Primary: 40 minute classes and secondary: 45 minute classes)
3. Normal school hours (Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30)
4. Prepare and teach lessons
5. Weekends and Holidays off

Remuneration and Benefits:
1. Salary + housing allowance + bonuses for certifications equals approx 16,000 RMB/month
2. Paid Winter and Summer breaks and Holidays
3. Reimbursement for relocation expenses (airfare plus 2000 RMB)
4. Health Insurance included
5. One month employment bonus upon completion of each contract
6. Plane ticket to home country upon completion of services with our school
7. Two month winter break and one month summer break off

Qualifications:
1. Native English speaker with a 4-year college degree from an accredited
Western university
2. Two or more years teaching experience
3. Teaching certification in your home country preferred
4. TESOL/TEFL or similar certification preferred
5. A professional attitude and love for teaching
6. A strong desire to help English learners
7. 25-50 years old (with lots of energy)
